We made an ADR for this place. Never been there before...does anyone have any feedback...is it good?!

Thanks!

Somebody did a review of this restaurant on the dining board. It was their first time and said it was a hidden treasure. This was nice to hear b/c we have an ADR and we've never been before either. Interested what others have to say.

It is by far the worst and most miserable dining experience in my entire life. The food is terrible and the service is slow......... :rotfl:

Of course I am kidding (I like it being kept a secret). This place has been my greatest discovery in WDW. We reluctantly booked it back in 09 when we stayed at the YC because of it's convenience for us. We were surprised. Excellent service, quiet and very good food. However, the restaurant is not a heavily themed Disney location. We have been there twice and have not been disappointed and would highly recommend the Captains Grill.:thumbsup2

Great to hear we will be trying for the first time in Sept! I want the crab cakes..LOL

best crab cake ever :)

i always speak highly as this is our "must do" 1TS meal. although i may start saying it's awful if it starts to get crowded :lmao:

you'll have a great meal! enjoy!

We are going to try it for the 1st time this August. I woud never even thought of making an ADR until I saw a post on the food picture thread---it was a lobster roll---ITS LOOKED AMAZING!!!!!!!

We have an ADR here for breakfast...just curious how the breakfast is. We are staying at BCV and thought it would be convenient for us right before our DHS day. Sorry OP didn't mean to hijack your thread :flower3:

DH and I stumbled upon this place during our 10-year anniversary trip back in Oct 2008 while we were staying at the Beach Club...and we LOVED it! Took the whole gang back there on a future trip and it was still a big hit.

We have a ressie here for our upcoming trip...but it's a backup to another ressie that I'm not sure we'll keep. The other nice thing is that typically this is a place we can visit WITHOUT ADRs and still be seated quickly...and that is with a party of SEVEN!
:thumbsup2

I had breakfast here last October. It's interesting because there's a small buffet or you can order off the menu. Off the buffet, I had eggs benedict, some bread pudding-type thing and some good oatmeal with toppings, as well as all the usual breakfast foods. It was yummy and fairly quiet at 7:30 am.

I am glad to read the favorable reviews. We've booked a dinner at the Captain's Grill for our May trip. We had an ADR a few trips ago but we were just plain not hungry so we cancelled! Ended up having burgers at about 10 at Beaches and Cream.

The plan this time is dinner at the CG and then dessert at Beaches and Cream before we roll back to our villa at the Beach Club!

Had a great lunch here on arrival day in December. My teens loved the burgers with crab, I had a great lobster roll sandwich, the clam chowder and spinach dip were also great. Nice, quiet, peaceful with excellent service.

Great dinners, i got a steak and mushrooms as a side. My mom also got food but there was so much haha. We had a fridge at BWV so it worked out fine, but don't worry about not getting enough to eat :)

We dined there for the first time on our last trip this past August. It was for lunch though. We were staying at The YC, and decided last minute to have a lunch there. I loved the atmosphere, it was almost empty, and the service was wonderful. I ordered the lobster roll, which was out of this world. My DH and DS both ordered the fish n chips and they also enjoyed their meals. We enjoyed it so much, that we are going back for dinner on our next trip this upcoming May.

IMO it think it is a hidden gem.

Can anyone tell me:

The hours that they are opened for breakfast?

and when lunch starts and ends

as well as dinner?

Do they close in the afternoon to set up for dinner?

We are staying at the Beach Club in June and we have 2 ADR's for breakfast and we are hoping to mosey in for lunch when we get back from the parks and before we hit the pool.

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

Thanks for posting this! DBF and I are taking our second trip to WDW this September and want to try different restaurants than last time, and Captain's Grille is on our list. It's great to read such positive reviews!

Does anyone know if you can order the Captain's Grille experience (includes app, entree and dessert from limited choices) if you're on the regular dining plan?
