Captain EO??

Is it a ride? A show? Help us! Thanks

I would advise to avoid at all costs... Biggest waste of time at Disney... It's like a really long, 3-d music video... It's a sci-if theme and like 20 minutes long... The 3d is really poor and blurry... IMO the worst attraction there is at disney.. And I am a Michael Jackson fan...

The 3d is really poor and blurry

It's from like 1986, what do you expect?

If you haven't seen it and you happen upon it when it's about to start, and you're not in a hurry, jump on in. It's classic MJ dancing, cute characters, and, most importantly ... AIR CONDITIONED!! :)

Really, it's not *THAT* bad.

Agreed. It's a fun little film with some catchy songs. A little corny, just like many Disney attractions, but it's not as horrible as some play it out to be.
Plus you're in air conditioning, in a seat for a nice little break for about 15-20 minutes.
It's a classic that was brought back for run after MJ died.

^ This. It's not my favorite attraction or even my favorite 3d show, but its still fun to see. Great thing to hit if you are waiting for your Fp+ timeslot somewhere else. (And no, you should not need a FP+ for it. It's never crowded on days that aren't Dec 31/Jan 1)

I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan -- but what I am a fan of is his song writing, his singing, and his dancing. I thought this 3D movie was lame and not worth seeing back in the 80s when it was brand new and haven't been since. It's him acting - no singing or dancing, so what's the point. // If you feel like seeing it, what the heck, go ahead. But I would suggest keeping your expectation pretty low. And if you don't have time to do everything on your list, this would be a reasonable one to skip.

It's 17 minutes of your life you will never get back!

Exactly, but that's because it's almost 30 years old and was only brought back because MJ died.I saw it once as a kid and it was probably a bigger deal back then,3-D was a novelty even if it was bad 3-D that hurts your eyes and 80's cheesyness was more tolerated as well.I've seen it since they brought it back, and that was enough, they need to remove it ASAP.And don't bring back Honey I Shrunk the audience, that should have been removed permanently a long time ago as well.I'm not saying don't go see it as everything should be experienced at least once to at least say you saw it because when it does go away it really won't be back again, well except on Youtube,at least your eyes won't hurt there.

Obviously you haven't seen it, cause the second half of the film is all singing and all dancing pretty much.

I have never been to Disney World, but I have seen it at Disneyland. Take some earplugs and it can double as a nap location... :-). There is nothing that smells and jabs you in the back like there is in It's Tough to be a Bug. In Disneyland the seats are more comfortable then the benches are in the Tiki Room and were in Country Bear Jamboree before they removed Country Bear Jamboree (not sure if the same is true in Disney World.). It is indoors unlike the train. Snoring on It's a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean is frowned upon.
I love Disney and everything I mentioned (except Captain Eo), but finding those good nap locations is always important!

It's Horrible.

Let's see what do I expect. I expect that a major corporation that owns it's own movie empire, with all the up to date technology could easily revive this dude.

This was 10 minutes of my life totally wasted.

OP, avoid at all cost.

We Saw it in Disneyland Paris, and tried throughout the entire show to stifle our laughter. It's terrible. And not in the good way either. You could tell the staff thought so too, as the enthusiasm in the cast members at this particular ride was at a low, even for Paris!

I would go so you can see just how bad it is, but not if there's a cue. Just look at it as an air-conditioned sit-down break.

This show is a great example of Disney's complete and utter neglect of Epcot. Figment is downstairs and not much better. The entire area is a joke and should be leveled. Imo Disney should be embarrassed of it. Elen's energy adventure is another old and empty attraction.

On my first trip last year, my family and I totally did this attraction. There was no wait so why not?! My husband fell asleep for the entire movie!! Snoring and all!! :) Will we go again on our next trip in October? Nope! Once was enough for my family. Also, the seats/rows did kinda move...if I remember correctly.

With a DisneyLand/World history that dates back to the 50s there are bound to be attractions that were once headliners that didn't age particularly well, but they're iconic. COP comes to mind and Capt EO fits the description. We didn't get to WDW until 1998 or so and missed the first run of this show. Since it once was a Big Deal we caught it when they brought it out of mothballs. I'm glad we did but once was enough.

I like Captain EO! It's not a favorite and if I don't make it to Captain EO in a trip it's not a tragedy...but I always try to make it to this at least once a trip. Maybe it's just nostalgia...I remember it from when I was a kid and I can't help but remember the time when me and my brother were pretty small (he's only 10 months younger than me) and he was so EXCITED to see it because, "Michael Jordan is in this!!" Lol!! He was a little surprised that it was NOT in fact Michael Jordan...but we both loved it...especially the little furry guy that flys around.

As an adult...I find it entertaining. Yes...it's very corny and cheesy...but still worth a watch in my opinion.
