I do find it ironic that this really bad film outlasted the dancing drug addicted pedophile himself.
Wow! You sure are cynical.

Can anyone elaborate, what IS Capt EO? I know its Michael Jackson something but its a place we avoided on the one trip it was around. I thought it had closed for good until I booked ds the Yes program and EO is part of it. Poor hubby, he has no idea and I feel bad telling him now he must sit through it(definitly NOT a fan of MJ as a musican or person.) I have seen Honey I shrunk... would have skipped it if it was open
I walked by there on Tuesday and noticed that the merchandise cart was gone.
EO IS LEAVING!!!!
Look first. Then leap.
This was only a sign it's leaving.
A dated early-technology 3D movie set in space where the power of music saves the day. Sounded corny as I wrote it.
So....I guess Im the only one that sees the irony....
- You have an self-destructive entertainer worthy of a side show in a carnival. "Meet Plastic Surgery Addiction Man!" watch him change features faster than Mr Potato head!.
- You have a guy that died from abusing pain killers
- You have a guy that abused small children.
Seems a bit hypocritical for Disney to do stuff like no alcohol sales and other things to promote a family values, yet run EO? You can't get Song of the South because of the race controversy, but step right up and see Mr Pedophilia.
Good thing OJ didn't make anything in 3d. Maybe we can get a someone with better character like Mel Gibson, the anti-semite, to make the next film...
Disney has essentially unlimited resources to produce a film, or find one of 100s if not 1000s in their vaults. Why EO is just an amazing decision to me. There's two possibilities: Disney execs are incredibly lazy and took the easy way out, or they are just cheap as hell (maybe both).
I'm honestly not trying to troll or stir up controversy. Just seeing if anyone else sees what I see. Everyone has their one attraction they can't stand, this one is mine.
I'm leaving for the parks next Friday. Hoping that EO is gone-O by then. Either way I will have a lot of fun.
Certainly his life was tragic, but I don't believe it was ever proven that he sexually abused any child. And his own children appear to have loved him dearly, despite the over-protective way he raised them.
Somebody's missing my point. I don't care if he was convicted or not. Why in the world would they anywhere near someone who was even accused? I'm not saying its fair (innocent until proven guilty), just saying that he's a *very* tarnished brand. Billions of other choices out there. Very analogous to Mel Gibson -- would you hire him to pitch your product right now?
The drug abuse is NOT subjective. Lots of hard facts to back that up, including the autopsy.
Again, not trying to rob people of their childhood. If you stopped history in the eighties, there's no issue. Keeping in mind that's not possible, I'm just trying to understand why Disney would think this is a good idea.
Yes.
HISTA may or may not return when they finally put EO out of its misery.
I hope they put it out of MY misery!
When you say, "You have a guy that abused small children," you are stating that as fact. Which it is not. I try not to be deliberately unfair.
.
You do understand that MJ was arrested and went to trial - right? At best he had questionable judgement when it came to kids. This point can't be argued.
Try this as a litmus test: would you have let him anywhere near your kids?
You still never answered why Disney wouldn't just pick someone else (anyone else) rather than MJ.
Can anyone confirm that there are more people attending Captain EO than HISTA? My best is that the same number of crickets for either crappy film.
