Captain EO on the Disneyland app?

I was just browsing the map in the new Disneyland app to check out wait times, and Captain EO now appears on the map right next to Space Mountain. I was just at the park about two weeks ago, and I don't remember it appearing then. Is this a glitch, or is Captain EO back?

I've never seen it, and I thought I had completely missed my chance. Is there still hope??

Technically DLR has not announced a closing date for Captain EO, but the theater has been used for movie previews (e.g., Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Tomorrowland) recently. It's possible that if there aren't any movies to preview in the near future, DLR may opt to resume showing Captain EO.

Thanks, Figment! So are you saying that the theater is just listed as Captain EO because that's a placeholder for it, and that it's not actually playing in the park today? I guess that means I'm glad there is still hope, but sad I couldn't, say, swing by tomorrow to catch some Michael Jackson...

Before they discontinued their previous app, they never put Goofy's Sky School back in the app after it changed over from Mulholland Madness. It was open as GSS for something like 2 years. Maybe the people who program Disney apps are so busy they never get to go to the parks.

As far as I know, Captain EO has not returned to the parks even through the Tomorrowland preview has ended. Truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised if Captain EO doesn't return the parks. Disney always seems to have some movie they want to preview...

Was just there. It has not returned. Nothing is happening with the theater right now. Rumors are that a Star Wars preview will be shown soon, which contrast the rumors that EO was returning with lasers and all.

I was bummed when that one turned out not to be true (or at least hasn't come to fruition yet) before my trip.

I was hoping that would actually happen, too. Captain EO got me to Disneyland in the first place, tbh.
