Captain EO Faces The Final Curtain

Booo! I really love the show but I knew it wasn't a permanent attraction. I'll enjoy it while I can. :)

The rumor is that this is being done to kick off a revitalization project for Epcot.

Doesn't make any sense to me to shutter an attraction (and one that's a Tier 1 attraction no less) before it's even time to start the rework, let alone 2 weeks before the high point of the season!? (Well yeah, think of all the mon-ay we're saving!).

I'm kinda disappointed because, although I never went out of my way to see it, I finally thought I would do it this upcoming trip which will be the VERY NEXT WEEK. Oh well...

I love EO, but I understand it is time for it to go. They should release a nice collector's edition blu-ray of it which I would be first in line to buy.

I agree that EO needs to be replaced with something else. However, it seems like poor timing to remove another attraction right before Soarin' goes down for 6 months. Even though EO doesn't draw big crowds, it seems like it would have made more sense to keep it around until the Frozen ride opens up.

I'm also among the folks who are sad to see it go. I remember seeing it at Epcot as a kid and now my kids love it. I would be less sad if I knew it was going to be replaced with something great (movie previews do NOT count), but I'm worried this will just be another closure with nothing to replace it for a long time. Last thing Epcot needs is another unused building.

If you're anything like us you said that every trip and never got around to doing it. I am surprised it's been open for this long and I am not surprised in the least that it is closing, regardless of the time of the year.

There is still more than enough to do in that park and with Frozen opening soon this will be forgotten quickly.

I've never seen it, but I'm not happy it's leaving (unless they actually replace it with something else). It doesn't bother me by existing - and lots of people love it. Why take out an attraction just to have unused space?

I'm okay with it going, but my family will be sad. It's silly for it to be shut down at the beginning of December though. The timing is horrible, if they don't replace it with something right away.

I also am sad to see it go. Kind of gave you an 80's remembrance if you lived thru that era...So glad I got to see it when I was down there in 2013....another empty spot for Frozen to fill up:)

It's odd timing for sure. But then Disney has been kind of odd lately.

EO wasn't great but it was harmless and some seemed to enjoy it. Why close it at such a time?

So .. until Frozen opens up .. and after Soaring closes there will be 9 attractions you can Fast Pass at Epcot for a while? That's it?

Can't say I'm surprised, or particularly sad. It was nice they brought it back as a nod to the past.
But there has to be a better use of the space, although judging from recent actions it doesn't see like anyone has a plan.

Cute, iconic, good dancing ............ but time to let it go. It seems to be a step in the right direction, hoping this means much love for the entire Imagination pavilion.
