Just looking at the daily schedule and noticed Captain EO is "Closed for Refurbishment" from 11 Sept and remains that way until at least the 18th (that's as far as I can see on the schedule).

I didn't see anything about this on any of the refurb lists I have seen on the DIS or on the Disney site. Though there have been rumours of it being replaced with a 3-D Star Wars attraction. Perhaps it won't be back.

Personally I am not too concerned, last February I had to see it 5 times as DS was going through a MJ phase. He has grown out of it, but he is still likely to be a bit disappointed.

Without knowing anything more than what you just said, I would guess that if they were going to change it out, it would need a long time. I sure hope they put something new in there soon!

It wasn't on the list this afternoon, but I see it now too. DD10 is going to be disappointed.

I read something about this on Mice Chat. Don't know if there is any fact to it or if it's more speculation, but it said they were going to talk about Tomorrow Land's future at D23. It said the new 3D Star Wars movie would be complete by the 60th birthday celebration.
-Again- not sure if there is any fact to that.

Considering I think Captain EO is terribly cheesy and outdated, I think it would be totally cool to have a Star Wars 3D attraction or something new!

I agree! Captain EO is very outdated and tired. I'd be great to have a Star Wars 3D attraction or anything else other than EO.

Yes! We are a big Star Wars family, so we would love to see a Star Wars attraction replace Captain EO. I'd really like to see nearly anything replace it! Its time for Captain EO to move on!

It's called Star Tours? :confused3

When I first saw that it might be replaced by a Star Wars 3D attraction, I thought it would be a bit redundant. I'd like to see something else in that theater, honestly.

I always thought it could be used to show upcoming movie previews for Disney. Similar to what they do in DCA (wish they'd fix the Muppet show and update it too). It's air conditioned, and it would be a nice break for people to take a load off and see what Disney has coming up. Just do them for 20 minute shows or something like that

I love Michael Jackson, so I wouldn't care if Captain EO stayed forever, but I can see why non-MJ fans want to see something else there.

I drag my husband in there EVERY time we go to DL. I was really sad to see NO Captain EO merchandise in Star Traders on our last visit, honestly!

Glad I got my Fuzzball, Hooter, and shirt when I did!

Episode VII will be out in 2015, Disneyland's 60th.
Tomorrow (8/10) is Star Wars day at D23.

I'm going to miss it - I know it is looking dated, but it's one of the ones I remember from my childhood. I was so excited when they reopened so I could see it again! I have my stuffed Fuzzball though - so I'm good just wish they'd do a DVD if they close it.

Captain E-O is a nice place to get an air-conditioned break, but I really hope they do something else with it (and all of Tomorrowland, really.) Tomorrowland just looks so depressing to me. :sad2:

Love Captain EO!!

Does anyone know if there's a way you can see it in 2D (non-blurry) for someone who is visually impaired?

I hope they have it in October! I want to take my 6 year old to see it. He loves MJ music and he just got over all his scary ride fears.

I was thinking the same thing! :-)

I thought it was great from Disney to announce the return of Captain EO when Michael passed away but I would not be sad to see it go. We didn't like it...

I know its time is limited; that's why I be sure to make it every time I go to DL. Last time I drug hubby in there twice, lol.
