captain E O leaving?

I actually really enjoyed Captain E-O although I concede I am an MJ fan so it was great to see this. It is really dated though and is overdue a replacement. That said, for the love of everything sane in the world, please do not bring back HISTA. I am so over that movie! Why replace E-O with something equally dated and in need of replacing. The film franchise is beyond old and holds no real resonance with younger audiences anymore. Especially when you have It's Tough To Be A Bug just down the road which essentially does the same thing.

I'd rather see something brand new in there, perhaps some new kind of adventure with a famous singer or something?

Let it go, LET IT GO!

We need a fresh show. No HISTA. What about a Big Hero 6 short?

I also love and will always love EO, but it's time. They should retire it and release a nice Blu-Ray with 3D with all the pre-show and other material. Once that is in my collection then I am content to see the "Tribute" come to an end and a new show put in. Perhaps something Star Wars related?

I love the show. It's a flashback to my teen years and I really enjoy it. I never saw it the first run so I'm glad I've been able to see it on our last two trips and the next one.
Granted... I and only one other person in our group of 9 that likes it but I'm ok with that.. :)

I know I certainly would like to get back the 75 minutes of time that I lost while watching this. What? Oh, it wasn't a 75 minute show? Certainly felt like it!

I was under the impression that when they initially put it back that it was going to be temporary as a memorial to Jackson after he died....

It's already been a bit longer than temporary.

So cheesy that I love it
Don't get rid of it unless there is a confirmed replacement for it

I would love to see them replace this with a Robin Williams tribute by bringing back one of his WDW projects from the 80's, like Back to Neverland or The Timekeeper....at least for a few months.

EO isn't the same. Its dated, and missing effects that were taken out after it's first run ran it's course.

I always thought a shorter Figment/Dreamfinder 4D pre show movie would work there. Enter Imagination through the theater, It's ADA compliant, see the movie, new ramp up to the Imageworks, exit Imageworks back down to a new ride completing your "journey."

Bring back Magic Journeys - the original film from the 80's! It was so trippy but very original and creative. Or maybe they can remake a movie like that with some known actors? Seriously - I wish they could be as free and creative in making attractions as they were back in the 80's!!

I really do wish they would remove Captain EO. It's out of date and frankly I don't like it. lol.

I wish they would put something in its place like a new 3D movie. Epcot is lacking 3D movies.

Disney World is about bringing families together. Captain EO was one of the few attractions that I remember from my only visit to EPCOT as a child. I took my son to see it in May (he is 7) and he loved the music and dancing. He asked me to download the finale song on iTunes and it is his favorite.

You either like MJ or you don't. For whatever reason you don't, it's no reason to bring back HIS.

I think that Captain EO is the absolute worst attraction in Disney. OMG it was a waste of my time.

Epcot is getting very dated and I am starting to get very bored with it.

My biggest issue with Captain EO is that it is a lazy solution to a larger problem. I will confess that I'm a recent Disney convert (since about 2001) so I never had the opportunity to see Captain EO when Epcot and Michael Jackson were experiencing their glory days. But I saw it, it was a good movie and it was a little nostalgic. But it's not something I'm going to go see over and over. I get that they wanted to put it in after MJ's death as a tribute, that's fine. But how long ago was that now? 4 years? My big problem is that its a very lazy solution to the problem of having another empty attraction space in Epcot. It's easy and cheap to stick that movie in there and play it forever then it is to develop another attraction or make a new movie. There aren't a lot of things that Disney does that really bother me, but this one does, because if there is one thing Disney should not ever be its lazy.
