Captain America: Brave New World

Looks interesting. I'll take as much Harrison Ford as I can get.

I have become sort of disconnected from the MCU ever since it became necessary to have encyclopedic knowledge of a dozen television shows in order to understand the action. They are pretty good movies though (Captain Marvel's visit to the Broadway musical planet notwithstanding), so I may attempt some catch-up before heading out to BNW.

I can understand that. It's the same issue that comic books have really - the continuity eventually becomes too heavy and inscrutible. The comic nerds can follow it, but it takes effort. The MCU has lost a ton of energy recently and I'm not sure that they can get it back. They have failed to understand one thing, which is the same in the comics, and that's that people love the characters, but the characters aren't Captain America and Iron Man, they are Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. Giving others the name doesn't make them the same people. Personally, I've always loved Falcon, but I like him AS Falcon. He doesn't need to be Captain America.

Personally, I loved the singing planet in The Marvels though.

When the Loki TV series first came out, I was visiting a friend and she and I started watching it. When I started asking questions about "Who's that?" or "What did he mean by that?" she suggested that we watch one of the past movies. Three movies later, I said, "I quit." We watched the rest of the season of the TV show, but I've only watched a couple of MCU movies since and I just accept that I don't know half of what's happening. I have no interest in trying to figure it all out.

What I think Marvel will plan to do with Captain America Brave New World is probably expand the Sam Wilson/Falcon storyline as shown in the ending of the final episode of Falcon And The Winter Soldier and this movie is a continuation of that series. I also think that Anthony Mackie is gonna do more Captain America movies if Captain America Brave New Worlds is a strong hit. While I find it odd that Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson is now the star of the Captain America movies Chris Evans will still be always Captain America to fans. Will Bucky Barnes make a cameo appearence in Captain America Brave New World?

I think this will be fun. The Falcon/Winter Soldier was one of my favorite Marvel series so far, and I hope this movie will be entertaining at least. Looking forward to it.

DD saw it a few days ago. She said it was underwhelming, and could've been so much better/satisfying, not bad, still entertaining, just a let down for the buildup. Anyone else see it? I'll wait until it's on Disney+, but I"m still looking forward to it. I really enjoyed Falcon/Winter Soldier series, in my tops so far of all the series.
She's looking forward to the next Fantastic Four. I really don't know/care much about those characters, but maybe it'll be good.
I'm excited for Daredevil.

What I think Marvel is hoping to do with Captain America Brave New World is try to make it be as successful as Deadpool And Wolverine was last year and they hope with Sam Wilson as Captain America Anthony Mackie will become as famous as Denzel Washington or Danny Glover and due to Captain America Brave New World Anthony Mackie will be in high demand for more action movies. I also know that The Leader is appearing in the movie too and what will The Leader do with Sam Wilson?

I enjoyed it but I wish they gave Mackie a better script. It felt very cut up, a lot like Falcon and Winter Soldier was. Marketing so much of the Red Hulk was a bad move. It would've been more fun to have less of that be shown before going into watch this. I liked it but it was definitely trying to channel Winter Soldier.

The last movie I saw in theatres was Avengers Endgame, pre-COVID.
Haven't gone back to a theatre since...

Hi Tinkerhon,
Like your son I celebrated the release of Captain America Brave New World by having a cuddle with my Sam Wilson Bleacher Creatures plushie on Valentine's Day night and I have been a Sam Wilson fan since watching Falcon And The Winter Soldier and started collecting Sam Wilson merchandise ever since. In my eyes this film will be big as Deadpool and Wolverine was and I think there's a lot of high hopes for this film too. Because when you put Anthony Mackie in action movies he seems to make them hits. I had never even heard of Anthony Mackie until I noticed he costarred in The Hurt Locker with Jeremy Renner and I basically think that Marvel will gain a lot of success from Captain America Brave New World because this is a chance to begin a trilogy of Sam Wilson movies

I saw it opening night, it's a solid Captain America movie. I never saw The Incredible Hulk, which might have been helpful for some of it.

I saw it today since I was off work. It wasn't bad or anything - better than I expected in fact, but it's still kind of nothing to be excited about. Honestly, if it came out five years ago I think everyone would be pretty happy with it.

Saw it opening night, I thought it was just okay. The two big action scenes I thought were really good.

I thought it would've been more of an impact to have his daughter show up and talk him down, I also hated how the dialogue seemed to be focused on explaining to the audience what was happening why it happened and what happen to get us to this point. I'd def put it in the bottom tier of MCU movies

I have much higher hopes for Thunderbolts and Fantastic four
