we are going to be in DTD on Easter. I wanted to make ADR for Captain Jacks but they do not accept them. Does anyone know if they accept reservations at all or do you just wait and have your name put on a list when you arrive?

If you go early no wait, to me it's a good resturant. Had the ribs on Wednesday they where outstanding.

my advice, go early or don't go, the wait is just horrible at times.

Cap'n Jack's is the last original restaurant in DTD. It is very good, but can be very crowded. If you can manage to eat on on off-time, you will have better luck getting in. It also catches a lot of the overflow from RFC, which is right next door, when the lines there are too long.

We went for dinner and had to wait 45minutes for a table. That said we wandered around DTD and had fun waiting for our table. I was a little disappointed with the food, but the service was excellent!

What time do you guys consider early to go for dinner? DH & I were considering trying out Capt. Jack's for dinner one night, but if it is going to be a hassle to get in we may just skip it.

We were thinking about going to Cap'n Jacks our first day, when we got in from Boston, so like around 3pm on a Sunday... do you think there will be much of a wait then?

Also, does Cap'n Jacks have a bar you can sit at instead of the tables?

I did not know they did not accept ADRs at Capt Jack's.
We ate there last Sunday. It was good, as usual. :)
DH had the ribs and thought they were tough. Not bad. Just not like a real rib restaurant.
Other than that, we have have no complaints between us on Cap'n Jack's. So if not so tender ribs is the worse we can say... :thumbsup2
We arrived last Sunday at dinner, and the place was half full. But by the time we left there were people waiting. And we were in and out fairly quick. We were not rushed. But we were not there a real long time either.

What we do is head for Capt Jack's as walk ins. IF there would be a long wait (and so far we have not waited more than 5 minutes) our back up plan is to go to RFC and use the Safari Club card to by pass a long wait there.
SO FAR the wait to get to the front desk just to check in at RFC has been MUCH longer than our seating time wait at Capt' Jacks!

And I rather eat at CJ anyway. ;)

Luv2Roam--What time did you arrive for dinner? Just trying to get a game plan. Do you know what time Capt. Jack's starts serving dinner?

I was wondering about Capt'n Jacks too. I have had it on my list, off it, then on again and off again. I actually like the idea of a place we can just go to without an ADR since everything else is so planned out.
What are their hours? How is the lobster?
Thanks.

I'm jumping on this thread :wave2: I was wondering about the lobster also.
Can you get the twin tails on the dining plan? :teeth:
I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

Thanks, YO

I found my Capn Jacks receipt.
The time on the receipt is 17:57 (5:57) on 3/12.
I am going to guess that was the end of the meal, as we usually do not eat late. So we just went in on a normal time. probably 5-ish.

We had two ice teas.
I had Roasted Chicken
DH ate Large Ribs.
Using the DDE, the bill (w/o tip) was $36.95.

I don't know what their hours are.
We have eaten there for lunch too and have had no seating wait. Again, just going in at a regular, normal time.

I don't know if we are just lucky so far. :confused3

I think CJ is back enough in a corner that many don't even know it is there. I think they do get a lot of RFC guests who don't want to wait there.
