Did you enjoy seeing him in it or not? How did it effect the ride? What if you don't like Sparrow that much?

It is the best part of the ride. At first I didn't like it but now!!! It is cool..

I am not a huge fan but am a fan. He is hiding in a lot of the spots where he has been added throughout the ride. I don't think it takes away from the ride at all. It isn't in your face from the beginning to end. It is still POC!

I personally did not want to see the move add ins, for no matter how it be done, it would change the face of the ride overall, which it has. I love the original ride, as it was. I love the POTC films, I simply never wished to see the two meeting, in the form of the POTC ride attraction.
I am still very interested in seeing the movie add ins, having their own ride, either in NOS, room permitting, or in DCA, I am figuring that DCA would be the best location for it, since it has a Hollywood theme.
When I visit the pirates, I do not focus on the movie add ins, that way, I can enjoy the ride, at least, almost as much,as I had previously.

It is what it is. I don't think Walt would have had him at the end celebrating with all his booty as the original concept for POTC was to show that piracy only leads to destruction and violence.

The original essence of the ride is still intact and the Captain Jack looks strikingly like Depp. It is deviating from the Walt version but the additions are good and well executed.

Enjoy it, a classic ride with a contemporary twist that ties the ride and film trilogy even closer together. Change is the only constant right?

I do not like the "contemporary twist" you can keep it, thank you very much.
Nor do I agree with your stance on the original essence of the ride being intact, exactly how so is that? for I do not see it that way, so I will keep my perspective on the subject, and you can keep yours.

I think the new additions are pretty cool. However, I really didn't like the last bit of captain jack as you're going up the hill to return. I don't know why, but there's just something about that.

Sure. I just try to give people a positive twist as opposed to trying to make the point I don't like it repeatedly. What is the point in that?

I don't disagree with you as I am against most changes to classic rides and I didn't particularly like the film trilogy (couldn't get past the second) but to tell someone who has never ridden it that it just sucks and is ruined seems a bit excessive but as you said, we can have different perspectives.

I could have said what you said as I don't like the glorification of pirates at the end, I don't like alterations to an original Walt ride and I like the ride a million times more than the films so the film references have no special place for me either. As I said, I just didn't want to ruin it for someone by completely bashing it and chose to try to be somewhat positive so not to influence the potential new POTC rider good or bad too much.

Like I said, it is what it is and it is not going to change but if you Gisele or I had the keys to the castle I think we can both be confident in knowing that we would both be there tearing Johnny out and going back to the Walt ride!

In and of themselves, I like the additions/changes, however, not at the cost of the ride itself, that is why my vote will always be for their removal, and placing them into their own separate ride attraction.

I very much enjoyed the first two films, however, I really hate to admit this, but, I was really very dissapointed in AWE. I pretty much like to pretend that it does not exist.

I like the changes to the Pirates of the Caribbean with Capn Jack Sparrow. It is an interesting twist on how the attraction inspired the movie, and the movie inspired changes to the attraction.

My opinion - doesn't detract from the attraction. :)

Well Walt always said that Disneyland would never be "Finished". So I think he wouldn't mind too much to see one of his rides inspire a movie and thus add a few details from the movie into the ride.

Except for Jake in the throne at the end...the added things from the movie are hardly noticeable. Barbosa on the ship across from Port Royal is good...but as others have said the Jack Sparrows are hardly noticeable.

At least in my opinion..lol

I like it with Jack Sparrow. He doesn't take over the ride. Didn't it used to end with two pirates hauling a bag of treasure up? In the end pirates always get their treasure. Guess that's why they are pirates. :)

Also, I was amazed at how real Sparrow looked and moved! It is amazing what they can do now. It is still my favorite ride. :thumbsup2

I am anxious to ride it again at DL as that is how I remember it from my childhood. My last two times have been at WDW, and it seems so different - Jack or not. The town scene is changed to be PC it seems to me - where they are "auctioning off" the ladies. I need to go google POTC changes. :rotfl:

Capt. Bane - I mist have gone on POTC 8 times last year over the course of two trips, and I swear I never saw Barbossa! I looked everywhere for him and couldn't find him! Clearly I looked in all the wrong places. I saw Jack Sparrow three different times (I assume there are not anymore Sparrow appearances that I missed), and of course, the giant Davy Jones on the water screen before you make the first drop, but I never saw any other POTC movie characters anywhere! Can you tell me again where Barbossa is, exactly, so I can find him next time? I might have been too caught up in looking for hidden Mickeys that I lost Barbossa!

He's on the pirate ship!

Barbossa is leading the attack on Port Royal from the sea...as you pass by the walls and cannon balls whiz over your heads, you can just hear him ordering them to surrender Jack...I think he wants his monkey back. lol

Thanks, guys! I am going to pay attention in two weeks when I go! Now that you describe where he is, I can recall that I was looking for hidden Mickeys in the clouds in that scene, so I overlooked Barbossa every time, apparently, and then looked for him in the wrong places!
