Capt Cook’s or Trail’s End?

This is definitely an apples/oranges scenario. If rearranging your days meant you had to choose between lunch at Capt Cook’s to try the pulled pork nachos or a breakfast at Trail’s End, which would you do?

I’m debating rearranging my park days. Currently have Trail’s End at 7:30 on my departure day (after a Halloween party night in September). I had then planned to head to MK. I’m thinking about switching my days around and RD-ing MK on Saturday Sept 8., then doing HS on my Monday departure day. My current days accommodate both CC and TE, but if I switch it would require a choice.

I can't stand the chaos that is the Captain Cooks beverage area, so I would definitely also vote for Trail's End. My question is, where are you staying? Depending on the answer to that, getting to Ft Wilderness for a 7:30 ADR might be problematic.

I would RD MK and then head out around 10-11 and take boat over to the Fort for brunch at Trails End.

I will be down there same time as you :)

The more I map out switching my days around, the more I think I should leave it.

RD HS on Saturday, head to Poly for lunch. Then do Trail’s End and MK on my departure day.

I’m staying at AS Movies. I posted in another thread about getting to TE. Folks suggested a Minnie Van would get me there in time. I do have another spot at 10:30 at TE. I’m hesitant to do that, but it might make more sense than rushing through before RD.

How long does the boat take from MK to Ft Wilderness? I’m trying to squeeze in some characters before I leave MK.

Her recommendation is exactly what we did and worked out perfect.

From the Watercraft transportation page...
"
  • Green Flag Launch: The green route carries guests from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This is a heavily traveled route due to the Hoop De Doo Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ being at this resort, along with the fact that guests staying at the resort can only get to the Magic Kingdom by boat. This route typically runs two cruisers which are both capable of accommodating ECVs and wheelchairs without a required transfer. Travel time from Magic Kingdom to Ft. Wilderness is approximately 13 minutes once underway. Wait time between boats is typically 10-20 minutes."

Sorry, I didn't realize rope drop was not until 9 that morning. Maybe try for an 11 AM ADR?

How late does Captain Cook's continue serving the lunch/dinner menu? Until midnight? I could save the nachos for a late night snack when we stay at the Poly in January.

I went to Trail's End for the first time this past March. It was dinner, though, and I didn't care for it. Found it rather on the small side for a buffet.

Agreeing you should save the pork nachos for your Poly stay. You wont have any scheduling issues as far as food is concerned then.
