I just bought a cappuccino maker as a gift. I drink it but I have never made it. What kind of coffee goes with it?

You can use any kind of coffee with a cappucino maker ... the important thing is that it's ground extremely fine.

The "pre-ground for automatic drip coffee makers" from the grocery store will give poor results.

Most grocery stores now sell whole bean coffees that you can grind for yourself either at home (if you've got one) or in the store....

Personally, I get the best results with Starbucks whole bean coffees, usually their "bold" flavors like Sumatran or Cafe Verona....

If you grind your own, invest in a good burr mill. You don't want a grinder, they can heat/burn the beans.

We make our own cappuccino and we use Medaglia D'Oro expresso. It's bold, delicious and inexpensive - $5.00 a can and you can find it in the grocery store. Sometimes we use Starbucks Verona or Italian Roast, and tell them to grind it for expresso. The coffee is very fine - almost powdery.

Thanks everyone! I think I will geta mill to go with it! Good idea!
