Hi,

me and my boyfriend wanted to go eat at Capn Jack, but I am a little apprehensive as to the quality of the food?!? :rolleyes1 I love seafood, and it is on the Dining Plan...

Any comments would be appreciated. :cool1: :flower: :cool1:

Don't waste your time. This place gets 99% bad reviews. I know it was so bad that we couldn't eat it.

I was just going to say the same thing, I would go to allears and look through the menus and pick another place, portions are small, menu is limited and food quality is bad plus it is expensive...

I was just there for lunch two days ago. We thought it was pretty good. Had the crab cake melt and it was very good. I wouldnt recommend it for dinner but for lunch it is fine.

Wow, I am totally surprised to read all of these bad comments about CJ's. We ate there twice last November and we absolutely loved it. It is a clean/quiet restaurant and the food was awesome. We are from the Bahamas and when we saw they had conch chowder on the menu, we just had to try it and it was just like eating it at home. With reviews to restaurants/hotels/parks etc. I find that you will always find good and bad reviews - it just depends on what you are looking for.

We have eaten at CJ at least a dozen times and never had a bad meal. Enjoy! ;)

Has anyone been to Capn Jacks this month. We are going in June and have ADR for here. Am thinking of changing, as have not read many good reviews!

It was NASTY and I will never go back! I would never reccomend going there. I am pretty sure (not kidding) that you could get better sea food at red lobster in your local town. Dont waste your time here.

Listen to the vast majority on the dis. If a resturant gets so many bad reviews it worth paying attention to, i did not but I have learned my lesson havent I:rolleyes:

I would go somewhere else. Tried it once and will never go back. The food was awful and the service was just about the same.

We've eaten there the last two Septembers and I have my ADR for this Sept.

I thought their crab cakes were really good and we enjoyed the twin lobster tails.

We love Captain Jacks and have been going there for years. The food is great (the clam chowder is the BEST clam chowder we've ever had anywhere). The crab cake melt is great as well, and I've always heard good things about the twin lobster tails.

The atmosphere is one of the most unique in Disney, there is a very nautical theme and you get to sit right on the water for most of the tables, very nice.

As with most restaurants, you're going to find people who hate them, and people who love them. People have a tendency to write more about places they hate, so I would give it a try if you're in the mood for some good seafood!

P.S. They also have some of the longest tenured bartenders in all of Disney, some of their bartenders have been working there for 20+ years!

Went last Sept and was probably one of our best meals of the week. Going again this Sept as well. Great service, great lobster (and you can ruin that really fast) and great appetizers (we had shrimp cocktail and twin lobster tails).

We ate there last August. We liked it fine--I don't think we'd make a special trip to DTD just to eat there, but if we were already planning on being down at DTD, we'd certainly eat there again. (In fact, we have an ADR there for our August trip. :thumbsup2 )

Our dining review of Cap'n Jacks, with pics, is here----> linkage

Ugh, that picture just made me want to be there right now! Might have to make a special trip in a few weeks....lol

Also, they make really good margaritas there, you won't be dissapointed!

We ate there in February and enjoyed it. The kids LOVED the chowder.

The only problem that I had was that the portions were on the small side.
