So we tried Cape may for the first time the other day. In my opinion it is the best dining on the dining plan for 1 TS credit. Food was great since I love seafood. Crab legs, mussels and clams. Clam chowder. Tortellini in lobster sauce. Great place to eat.

Good to know! Thanks for sharing, as I was debating on whether to keep or cancel this one.....think I'll keep it!

Great if you like seafood. I don't, but I go with my DH who does. I get plenty to eat don't get me wrong, they have chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes and gravy, beef. but it is not my favorite place. The desserts are not great IMO.

Glad you enjoyed it :). We love Cape May and usually do a dinner and breakfast there every trip :goodvibes.

I love CMC Clambake!

I especially enjoyed the desserts there, although I have heard that they now have a new pastry chef.

I agree whole heartedly. This however in no way resembles a clambake. The only thing similar is the corn. It should have steamers ( little neck clams) that you can dip in hot broth with a dab of butter, Lobster, coleslaw and boston baked beans. A baked potato and strawberry shortcake. You dig a hole in the ground fill it with hot rocks and add corn, hot rocks, the lobster, hot rocks and the steamers. Don't forget to cover it with dirt. If you are going to call it a clambake at least they should get the food right. A seafood buffett yes, but a clambake Cape May is not.

We usually go to dinner and breakfast here every trip. It's one of the better buffets, imo. The desserts used to be much better though.

How about some thoughts and opinions of CM from those that aren't exactly buffet fans? We've thought about trying this since we love seafood and the breakfast at CM but are not huge fans of buffets.

My wife absolutely hates buffets. She refuses to go to them but she agreed to cape may because she know how much I like seafood and she thought it was great and said she would definitely go again.

I totally agree! We went to Cape May for our Thanksgiving dinner and it was terrific! My husband is a big crab leg fan but the rest of us don't care that much for seafood. There were plenty of items to keep us all happy, and everything tasted great. We liked it so much that we canceled our ADR for Garden Grill the last night of our trip so we could go to Cape May again! YUM!

It was our favorite TS restaurant of our trip, and we also dined at Le Cellier, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Whispering Canyon and Boma.

great to hear!
we are eating dinner there on 12/11 and i was already looking forward to it, but after hearing such great reviews, it makes me feel even better about choosing it as one of our adrs. thanks for the post!

thanks for the post ...and all the good comments.

This has not been one of my choices for reservations at all...and we decided to try this after 25 visits to the house of the mouse. Thanks for telling us about it.....being from Maine ...we are seafood lovers.

We also did Cape May for Thanksgiving Dinner. It was wonderful. In my mind one of the best values on property.

We'll be there 12/12 for the first time and I can't wait. I was a little hesitant because seafood buffets usually end up being a lot of breaded stuff that all taste the same. I'm glad to hear that this one is so much better than that. Thanks for the post!
