Cape May vs. Garden Grill

I've been trying to fit both of these restaurants into our schedule, but I'm just not sure I can. If you had to pick one, which would it be? We have never dined at either one. We have done plenty of character meals and will definitely be at Chef Mickey's on this trip, so the choice isn't based on that.

I've not been to Garden Grill - but I think the determining factor may be how much you like or don't care about seafood....Cape May has LOTS of it, and it is good, but I think my kids would prefer Garden Grill for the fun atmosphere and the food choices.

Good point Tinkie about the atmosphere. Though Mickey and friends are at Garden Grill, Cape May is a buffet and a very good one. It is on our must do list and we always go at least twice a trip. I would choose Cape May plus I love walking around the area at night.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Garden Grille. It's a rotating restaurant with Farmer Mickey, Chip N Dale and Pluto. They start out with delicious bread and salad with veggies from The Land. Then they bring out a huge skillet of steak, chicken, catfish, stuffing. potatoes and corn. It's all you can eat. I didn't think I would like catfish but it is delicious. Then they bring out dessert. For kids, I think it's mac-n-cheese with chicken fingers (not too sure) and worms-n-dirt for dessert. The character interact has always been great when we've gone. Good Luck deciding!

We've never been to Cape May's, but the kids and I love the Garden Grille. One word of warning...the motion of the restaurant was actually enough to make my (extremely motion-sensitive) dh ill. Anyone else ever had that problem?

We're doing the ice cream social there this time, because we can't bear to give it up, but I don't want dh to be miserable for a whole meal. Maybe he can handle it for ice cream.

I am in the minority here - the night we had reservations for the Garden Grill we ended up leaving before we were served. We finally got seated about 20 minutes late and when we were seated the table was filthy, as were the two around us. Just as we were about to be seated the people next to us - (who were on top of us) started taking the salt and pepper off of our table. I was feeling most uncomfortable and after waiting 15 minutes without a waitress in sight my husband and I looked at eachother and got up to leave. Maybe because it was so busy but I remember it being disgustingly filthy.

On the other hand, we LOVE Cape May Cafe. We've only tried it for breakfast - not sure we are big seafood eaters that's why we haven't tried it for dinner.

My sister has the same problem. We all tried to go out to a local rotating restaurant (Reunion Tower in Dallas), and finally gave up and left as she was spending her evening in the bathroom. The combination of the height and the rotation did her in.

We also loved the Garden Grill. If you have really liitle tots, I think the buffet is too hectic b/c the tikes just look at as an opportunity to run around! LOL ! At Garden Grill, they knew they were there to eat but were also delighted by the visits of the characters!
