Which would you pick? We have a split stay planned for next summer--first 4 nights in a pirate room at CBR, and second 4 club level at BWI. We want to do a couple of character breakfasts. I know we are going to do the one at Tusker House, as we all enjoyed that one a lot last year.

However, I am not sure if we should do Cape May or Chef Mickey's. We are planning on hitting the MK a couple of times during the first half of the trip, so I was thinking one option would be that we just bus over to the MK and walk over to the CR for breakfast.

Or, we could wait until the second half of the trip and do Cape May while we're at the BWI, as we could just walk over there. I'm less excited about this option, since staying CL we can have breakfast in the lounge--but if people think Cape May is a lot better than Chef Mickey's, I'd consider it.

What would you do? Thanks!

We ate at Chef Mickey's for breakfast during our trip this past August and had a great experience and felt that the food and character interaction was great. However, I've heard a lot of great things about the Cape May character breakfast and we probably would have went with that character meal option instead if it had been easier for us to get to that location from our resort. Since you will be staying at Boardwalk I would go with the Cape May breakfast.

We usually eat at both every trip and they are both great. With that said, if I had to choose between the two, it would be Cape May. Chef Mickey's has never disappointed, but Cape May is our favorite breakfast :goodvibes.

We have done both, and while I'm glad we did Chef Mickey's once, we definitely preferred CMC. It was great walking out after CMs and going right over to MK, but it was so loud and crazy (I know, we're at WDW, that is the norm), but CMC is just so much more relaxed in comparison. The characters spend more time with DD and the food was great.

Wow--lots of love for Cape May! Awesome. I appreciate your opinions and will share them when I chat w/DH about this later. Thanks!

I would vote for Cape May Cafe as well! Our family has eaten at both and loved both until our trip this past August. We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and we were very dissappointed:( and that is one of my favorites. We generally do a breakfast and dinner there each trip.

Where ever you decide to eat, I hope you enjoy it!!

Hands down Cape May Cafe....it is a must do for us (the characters are so cute in their beach attire) and since you are staying at the BWI anyways, it will be an easy walk over to the BC. Cape May is so much more relaxed than at CMs and the character interaction is so much better IMHO. We have dined at CMs twice (once for dinner and once for breakfast) and both times was a disappointment.

You guys are fantastic. Thank you so much! Cape May sounds great. DH thinks it sounds nice to walk over there to have breakfast, and I agree. We're going to go ahead with it. Thanks again for the quick and helpful responses!!

Cape May gets my vote too! Its more low key than the other character buffets. The food is great and so is the atmosphere and characters!

I wasnt impressed with Chef Mickeys AT ALL. Glad i did it once, but i wouldnt go back. The food was disappointing, poor quality & temperature. The atmosphere is terrible IMHO, and if it matters to you, it is quite loud. The ONLY good thing about the place are the characters. But they took forever to come around.

Gosh darn, I missed the Cape May Cafe boat! But we hit CMC EVERY trip and have never been disappointed.

Better food, better atmosphere, better service, better character interaction, less crowded and noisy...... but Chef Mickey's is fine too! :rotfl2:

Like many other posters we prefer Cape May.

To me it's like CMickey has the "hype" and they don't need to really work hard to get fans.

Cape May has IMO much better food and the characters really seem to want to interact with you - rather than the almost table to table 'got to keep moving' feeling we get when we're at CMickeys.

Cape May hands down.:thumbsup2 We've done both many many MANY times. We won't do Chef Ms again until they get their culunary act together. I'm tired of paying over a honey-bee for a meal and leaving hungry. We've never been unhappy at Cape Mays. Breakfast or dinner. :lovestruc
I agree w/ the others too, it's far less rushed and much calmer in the atmosphere. Very enjoyable!
Oh and that reminds me, one time, while we were there, a Christmas carol singer came to our table, he offered to sing "Jingle Bells" but alas, the only version my DS knew at the time (he was 3) was the "Batman smells" version. Thanks hubby! :rolleyes1 So he got down on one knee next to our table and sang it quietly just for us. :cloud9::love: That was the BEST! So magical!

OK, now I'm hungry!

I know you have already made your decision, but I have to agree, Cape May is awesome! The characters were great & the atmosphere is so much more relaxed.
