Looking at doing a seafood buffet....cape May or garden grove at the Swan? Haven't heard much about garden grove.

We ate at Garden Grove a couple of months ago. The food was HIDEOUSLY bad. Not just mediocre - practically inedible.

We were at the first seating of the first night (it was weekends only then). The food literally tasted like it had been cooked a week ago and then thawed out.

The lobster tail was so overcooked that neither of us could even chew it enough to swallow a bite. The crab legs tasted old and were stringy.

The other dishes on the buffet looked like something from a middle school cafeteria.

Truly one of the worst meals I've ever eaten.

It's been a few years since I've been to Cape May, but I liked it a lot.

Cape May for sure. I love Swan and Dolphin diinng just about everywhere except garden grove.

Reviews for the GG Seafood Sensation buffet are all over the map. I peeked at it once and it looked pretty "tired." I've read some rave reviews as well, that said it put Cape May to shame. I've never done either. Do a search on the threads on this board, and make an educated guess. While I think the Swolphin as a whole is extremely underrated, I cancelled my GG seafood buffet res after reading a ton of reviews. On the flip side, Cape May has plenty of bad reviews as well.

My thought on cancelling was this: It's Disneyworld, and a hotel. Food is mostly overpriced for what it is. Why risk it?
That being said, if you like sushi, Kimonos is freekin great for the price.

Funny, we've eaten at Garden Grove three times, and the food has always been very good. We've done Cape May once, and I thought it was on par with Chef Mickeys--fine, but nothing extra special.

I went to Garden Grove once and liked it. The lobster was just ok and not amazing but everything else was very good.

I really enjoyed my meal at Garden Grove, but it was back in 2012. I'll be there for Thanksgiving so hopefully its good. I haven't been to Cape May for dinner, but I've heard good things.

We’ve eaten there twice and liked it very much both times although the first time the crab legs were much better. The meat was all stuck to the shells the second time and they were difficult to eat.

The carving station (prime rib first time and strip loin the second) was excellent both visits. The desserts are prepared under the Swan’s world champion party chef.
