Last week I made an online ressie for Cape May and the screen went crazy about the time the confirmation should come. I checked the box to agree and put in the code at the bottom, but did not get a conf#. I got a blank email from wdw confirming but the email had no body. I had read on here of many having the same issue who ended up being double booked, so I replied to the email saying I had made a ressie at Cape May on the 9/24 at 5:40 and could they resend the conf with a conf#. Well they finally responded today that ---YOU GOTTA LOVE THIS--dining reservations are not available online and to call wdw dining to make any ressies. I don't know what cave this guy lives in, but really!!
So, Cape May is not available now but Biergarten is. DH and DS are meat and potato guys, but awfully picky about sauces and the like. Should I check for Cape May openings or is Biergarten a good substitute? It is EMH at Epcot that night and most things are booked.

Well *for us* Biergarten would definitely be the place of choice. We stay at BCV typically, and we DO *like* Cape May Cafe, but we have a lot more fun at Biergarten.

i have never eaten at Cape May, so i can't compair the two...however if you are looking for some positive feedback from some meat and potato folks on Biergarten.....i'm your gal.

my fam (DH, DS who started loving that place at age 5 and I - DD who is currently 4 and has eaten there at least twice is happy anywhere they have mac and cheese) LOVES this place.

sausages a plenty, at least 2 different types of potatos, chicken (or viel depending on the day and time of day) schnitzel - basically pounded, battered fried chicken, soups, veggies, salads and always a beef and pork roast at the carving table. oh, did i mention the pretzel bread and mustard?!?!:cloud9:

down side for some is that you are seated at large tables sometimes with others. DH loves this. loves yapping with others.
