I would love to try it and I think DD, then 21 months, would enjoy it too. However, DH does NOT do seafood. Are there good choices for the non seafood eater?

I know I'm in the minority but - we didn't like Cape May at all. Of course being from New Orleans, we're spoiled. To us the seafood was not worth going for and the other meats/main dishes were not good either. It's been a couple of years since we went, maybe things have gotten better. The best part is walking around outside - Boardwalk area :sad2:

I don't eat seafood - and we have gone 3 times, and i really enjoy it!

Oh, and we're from New England, so we know a good clam boil/ bake!! :thumbsup2

We ate there a year or so ago...I don't eat seafood and had no problem finding something to eat. However, also being from NE, we had the opposite opinion...we didn't think the seafood offered was the 'best' we had had. But, as with just about anything else in WDW, it has to appeal to the majority, and there are plenty of people who think it is just terrific. I think my group is in the minority.

I don't eat seafood and the menu looked good to me without the seafood. However, we woud never eat there due to the smell. We've walked by at dinner time a couple of times and the "fishy" smell almost knocked me over. I think I would get sick if I had to smell that smell for too long.

DH & I ate at Cape May Cafe Clam Bake on Sunday June 4. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the steamed clams, mussels and shrimp - please note that the shrimp used to be cold peel & eat, they are now hot in a broth and must be peeled. They are on the small side, but their flavor made up for the size. I also had some veggies, the sliced beef, beef tips in burgandy wine sauce(very tasty) and a couple of ribs. The ribs were my least favorite, but were still OK. We will not hesitate to return. In fact, DH is considering changing our Sept Maya Grill ADR to return to Cape May cafe. We'll have to see on that one.

There are plenty of choices for non-seafood eaters, including roasted chicken ,carved beef, another beef choice, bbq'ed ribs, plus chicken strips/pizza/hot dogs in the kiddie section. :teeth:

There are plenty of non-seafood choices. My grandma won't eat seafood at all and loved the selection of chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, etc. My little sisters also won't eat seafood, but loved the kids section with chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. There's also a whole side with salad staples and fresh veggies. I'd say go for it!

I don't eat ANY seafood & we eat here every trip!! We love it here & it gives my hubby the opportunity for some seafood on our trips. :thumbsup2

They usually have a good selection of non-seafood items: pasta/rigatoni, chicken, ribs, huge salad bar & great side options - potatoes, etc. They also have delicious desserts!!

I think everyone in your family would find something there to enjoy! :teeth:

We are not big seafood eaters and I had the rigatoni. I didn't see much else. I guess I must of missed the chicken and beef. IMO, there's allot of seafood and not many non seafood main dish choices. Depends if he likes rigatoni, chicken or beef I guess. We didn't care for Cape May Cafe.

We stayed in May at BC, did not eat at Cape May for dinner, but walked by and it smelled great- I do not eat much seafood. I will eat shrimp, lobster and crab, clam chowder and the aroma made me want to eat there---

We just ate there this past weekend for the first time. It was pretty good. Not outstanding, but not bad. My hubby doesn't like seafood and there were plenty of other options for him. In fact, we had eaten just a few days earlier at Crystal Palace and we both thought the prime rib at Cape May was much better.

Enjoy!

If I remember right, the shrimp are those "easy peels" that are already deveined, also, just another note on the shrimp-they are on the buffet hot-but if you ask the waitress/waiter very nicely :) for some cold shrimp-they will bring a bowl to your table-I have never had them say no. I ask as soon as we sit down, as they make them fresh-and it takes a little bit to get them. The bowl they bring is more than enough for the whole table. HTH

It's funny you say that...we stay at BCV frequently and would find Cape May to be a very convenient place to eat at the end of the day. However, each time we walk by Cape May to get to the pool, DH says we will not eat there because of the smell, and he likes sea food!

My family ate there and loved it! My father is not a big seafood eater and he had plenty to choose from. He especially liked the prime rib!

Not worth the money or time to travel to YBR for a non-seafood eater. We tried this place on a recommendation despite not enjoying seafood and were unhappy when we accepted the bill. I can say we've tried it but I don't know the value of that statement other than to share our experience with others.
