we ate at cape may dinner buffet several years ago - it was just "okay" - kinda of sloppy presentation and some of the food was not hot ---just wondered if anyone has a recent dinner experience there. also, my DH doesn't love seafood and would be interested in what your opinion of the non-seafood items was-
thanks!

We ate there in October 09 and all 4 adults loved it. Yes, we are seafood ppl but we still enjoyed the non-seafood items. The ribs were yummy and very similar to the Luau ribs. My mom like the sausage pizza. There was also roasted chicken which was moist and flavorful. They have various cold salads and fixins to make a nice green salad. The desserts are good too!
We loved the clams, crab legs, peel and eat shrimp and fried fish. My dad is diabetic so he watches what he eats and I will say we are still shocked and laughing when he went up and came back FIVE times with buckets of clams! I have never seen my dad eat FIFTHS of anything! He hardly eats seconds.
We just loved this buffet.:lovestruc

I just ate there in December. It was me, my mom, and my 3 kids (11,9,5). Funny, we all had the same opinion as you (original poster). It just wasn't great. I was looking forward to it because we're all seafood lovers. The waitress wasn't even that great. We had stuff piling up and she just didn't seem to come around.

We ate there in late Sept. My husband doesn't eat the seafood options and always leaves full. We had bbq ribs, rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, penne pasta, and some great dessert options. Little cheesecakes, key lime tarts, raspberry cakes and some little oreo things. It has improved in quality since the last time we went. They were constantly wiping off the buffet, replacing food that wasn't even empty and checking temperatures. We were really happy with it.

I've been there with the family 3 times...

Only because we were staying at BC...

I WOULD NOT treat Cape May as a Destination Restaurant... but it did satisfy the picky teens and DH....

So ...in summary...if you are staying at BC and need a TS Meal... go ahead... but I wouldn't travel there for the Cape May Seafood Buffet...

(If you are looking for a "Destination Restaurant" and would travel that far.. my advice would be to go to EPCOT )

Hugs,
Mary

Hubby and I dined here May 2009 and we absolutely loved it. We are not seafood people, at all. No marine animals will pass our lips  but we thought the non seafood items were well cooked and seasoned and everything was hot and being refilled constantly. Everyone was working hard that day. I posted a full review if you are are interested

Food like a lot of things in life is so subjective. I always say if you really want to try a place [or retry in your case] and you see mixed reviews just go for it. Not everyone likes the same thing and all restaurants can have off nights. Good luck!
