Currently working on our ADR's for December, or preping anyway. DH loves seafood and loves the idea of an all you can eat seafood buffett. We are from the Pacific Northwest and love good fresh seafood. Is the Cape May Clam Bake good or no?

Thanks for your input.

My husband and I have eaten there and we really enjoyed it. We thought the seafood was good - but definitely on a "buffet" quality level.

However, you mention you are looking for "good fresh seafood". That being said, I don't think you will be happy. While it is a good buffet (in my opinion), I don't think it meets your requirements - especially being from the Pacific Northwest - so much wonderful salmon out there.

So - if you are looking for a high end meal, I don't think this will fit your wants. Try the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. We have eaten there 2 times and had wonderful meals on both occassions. We also had some wonderful salmon at the Artist Pointe in WL. The wine pairings were excellent too!

Have fun planning. So many choices!

I agree with the previous poster, the clambake was good but probably not the standard of seafood you are accustomed to (although the Oreo bon-bons are pretty darn good ;) )

Big Yea for us! We loved it and thought it was 10x better than 1900 park fare. All of the clams and mussles you could eat plus quality service how could you go wrong? DMIL is a very picky eater and liked this place the best.

It is a good meal, for a buffet. We go once every trip and enjoy it very much. However, Flying Fish will probably be more to your liking.

We liked the buffet a lot, but, being from the Boston area and use
to great seafood we thought it wasn't as good as what we are use to.

It's ok. It used to be one of our favorites but the last two times we went, the seafood just wasn't that great - I guess we tend to expect better when in FL (we're from OH - not the best place for seafood :) ).

Yea from me. It's about the only buffet we dine anymore at WDW. The only things I eat are the mussels, clams, boiled red potatoes and clam chowder. I am guilty of overeating  and being from Indiana, this seafood is as good as I'm going to get!

We really enjoyed this buffet alot! The seafood was good - not the best I have ever had (from the Boston area) but it was good! My family all hard nosed New Englanders also really enjoyed this buffet. We would do it again!

This is one of our favorite places to eat while in "the world". Previous posters from the New England states have not been impressed. Can't totally blame, seeing as how their seafood is some of the best. But for those of us who enjoy simple but good seafood, this buffett is just fine. I have heard great reviews regarding flying fish. I also looked at their menu and it is pricey. OUCH!

If you are there for several days, you might want to give Cape May a try and maybe try a higher scale place such as flying fish on another day.

Either way, enjoy and have fun and good eats!!!
Blessings,
Winnie

Has anyone eaten here recently?
Has the menu or quality of the food changed?

I would like to know this also. Would any of you pick Cape May clam buffet over the Boma buffet? Have one more night to make adr for.

We ate there for Mother's Day this year. My son (19) my husband and I . We all liked it but we didn't love it. My husband really enjoyed the mussels, my son the meat and I really liked the desserts. I would pick Boma over Cape May.

Is there enough to eat at Cape May for a vegetarian?

How hardcore of a vegetarian are you? There is a station of soups and salads (I like the corn chowder), There is a pasta dish usually, different types of potatoes, breads and desserts. There are also things like ribs and roast beef, so if that sickens you I'd say stay away.
