Cape May Clam Bake Question

I'm starting to think about some places to eat for our next WDW trip. DS and I really like crab legs so I was thinking about going to Cape May. But my question is, do they have shrimp. DS really likes shrimp but he only likes grilled shrimp. He will not eat fried shrimp and he doesn't care for the cold peel and eat shrimp. So is there any shrimp he would eat?

Also, DH will not eat any seafood. I mean none. Is there enough there for him to enjoy his meal too?

I don't eat any seafood and cape may is my favorite restaurant, not buffet, but restaurant in Disney.

I do not believe they have any grilled shrimp-- only cold (peel and eat) and sometimes fried on the kids' buffet.

There is plenty of other food to eat that's not seafood but it kind of seems like a big waste of money. Would your husband be open to eating by himself at ESPN or Beaches and Cream while you and your son try Cape May?

(I only ask because my brother is allergic to seafood, and while he does find other stuff at Cape May, sometimes he just chooses to go eat by himself elsewhere!)

They do have peel and eat shrimp and a few nights a week they have fried shrimp but no grilled shrimp

I am not a huge fan of mussels and clams but I am in love with Cape May Clambake...I do eat the crab legs but I focus on the other non seafood items like the ribs, roasted chicken and the best salad sections...there are lots of pictures of the all the buffet foods in my Feb 2011 thread

We ate at Cape May on our last trip and probably wouldn't go there again (not for dinner anyway). The atmosphere is nice, and we enjoyed the desserts.. other than that no one in my party of 15 liked the food. Of course, we are all native Cape Codders and maybe a little picky about our seafood ;)

We were really disappointed with the crab legs. They were small and the meat was stringy. It stuck to the inside of the shell and was impossible to get out. A real waste of time. But the rest of the buffet was pretty good. Your DH will find enough to eat. No grilled shrimp. But really I wouldn't go just for the crab legs ;)

we are Mainers and we didnt enjoy the clams at all...they were small little bitty clams and we werent sure what they were......but the rest of the buffet was pretty good ...just being a New Englander we are picky about our seafood too

I am happy to go to Cape May just for the ribs, although not being from New England, I also enjoy the mussels.

Sounds like it's time to make an ADR for Ohana. BIG honkin' grilled shrimp for DS; skewers of steak and pork and chicken for DH.

NOTE: Average food quality. This is not the quality of a
New England seafood buffet. So, due to the quality, the
buffet is overpriced. They do have crab legs, but they are
smaller legs and REALLY stingy with the meat. Not high in
quality, but will do in a pinch, as will the clams and mussels.
