Just wanted to hear everyone's opinions about these 2 restaurants...
Thanks so much!:cool1:

Loved the clam bake - lots of variety, great mashed potatoes and crab legs. Good kids selections. Wonderful desserts. Teppan Edo - not so much. Ok food, terrible child's meal. We can go to this type of restaurant at home any time. They all do the same "show".

We did both on our last trip and was pleasantly surprised by Cape May. Buffet was very fresh (even at 8:30 pm) fried shrimp was delicious and ribs and clams (while quite small) were quite good. This was our second meal at Teppan Edo and while we enjoyed, just wasnt wowed - the presentation is fun though - our chef made a mickey mouse holding a balloon out of an onion!

We have eaten at Teppan Edo twice and tried Cape May for the first time in January. Both are excellent IMO, and we are planning to return to both in October. :)

Haven't done Teppan Edo, but I can highly, highly recommend the Cape May Clambake

Please feel free to check out my Cape May review (link in my signature ;))

I love Japanese steakhouse hibachies but Teppan Edo was a disappointment. Food quality & quantity was a lot worse than something you would get locally. I vote for CMC.

How about neither! :)

Japanese steakhouses is good food, but not unique to Disney in any way. In fact, last time (3 weeks ago) we had the worst "cook" I've ever seen.

Cape May has never intrequed me... just walking by it from the outside, it has never interested me. Maybe it's because I'm not a seafood lover and I'm from New England.

Why not try one of the more unique options for dining around Boardwalk or in Epcot - there are SOOO many to choose from!

We have eaten at both. We were not impressed with Cape May Buffet and we have not returned. Maybe it is because, being from New England, we get such fresh seafood at home.
We love Teppan Edo, it is a must do for us each year. Although teppanyaki style restaurants are not unique to Disney, it is far more authentic and higher quality than I can get here. I would definitely choose it over Cape May
Enjoy

I've never gone to Teppan Edo, but went to the clambake for the first time last summer and it was FANTASTIC! Foodwise, I think it's the best buffet Disney offers...everything was super fresh and yummy.

We're doing both in two weeks. Added a night at the last minute and clambake was available. I look forward to both!

Ok...I booked a ressie for dinner. Thanks everyone...I am so so excited for this trip!! =):cool1:

The Aviator--Great Review!! Thanks!

We have only done the Clambake but I would highly recommend it! We went this past Sept for the first time and we will be going this coming Sept. THis is our new favorite meal at Disney!! :cool1:

We went to the clam bake just this past week while in the world and all of us, including our DS4 found it it be awesome. We will definitely return on our next trip.
