We just made a PS for Easter Sunday at Cape May. I'm not at all familiar with it. There weren't many PS's available at this late date. I'm hoping we made a good choice. This was the only restaurant offered I had even heard of before. What can you tell me about it?

Was this character breakfast or dinner?

For dinner, its a "must do" for us each trip. We love it.

I wasn't aware there were characters at this. But as I mentioned, I'm really unfamiliar with this place.

Our PS is for 3:40 (the only other choice was after 8 or 9 pm..I forget which). I believe it's a little more pricey than there everyday dinner. I was told it'll be $27.99 adult and $10.99 child buffet. The food choices sounded good...prime rib, lamb, shrimp, etc. I just don't want this to be a waste of time and money.

Cape MAy is a great buffet. My In-laws insisted we go their last trip and it was great!

They have prime rib, lamb, all kinds of seafood, great clam chowder, and a ton of choices for the younger crowd..

I'm not usually a huge seafood fan, but I tasted a lot of different dishes and each was excellent!

It also is a nice environment and is laid back (at least when I have been there).

Remember, save room for beaches and creame desert.. Kitchen Sink is awesome! :earsboy:

It sounds like Kitchen Sink is a meal in itself. We tried to get in there last Christmas, but the line was too long. Is Cape May near the Beaches and Cream?

We really love the buffet items and feel the food is very good for the price. We went on our first trip to WDW and have gone ever since. Could be one of those places just just brings back all the great memories of WDW for us.

My DD loves to get the bucket o crab legs. Also, they have these little oreo cookie desserts that I just love. You have to try those.

I didn't know they opened that early.

Cape May is right down the walk from Beeches and Cream. maybe 3 minute walk in the resort.

The characters are at the breakfast, not the dinner.

Maybe they have different hours for a holiday. My original PS was for 1:30, but we pushed it back as far as we could without getting into near bedtime!

We have enjoyed the clam bake buffet dinner at Cape May our last two visits. :goodvibes There were a lot of good choices - and the quality was good as well. Didn't read the whole thread - but for dinner the tables are covered in paper that kids (or adults!) can draw on with crayons. Even though my girls were 10 princess: and 12 princess: our last visit they had some fun with that. Desserts are included and are pretty good although the selection of desserts was less impressive on our most recent visit.
Last time we ate breakfast there was about 10 years ago - so can't help you there! I do remember thinking that I had never seen so many pastries in one place!

Enjoy!

we like Cape May. It is in the "rotation" for dinners out. :)

We really love CMC for both breakfast and dinner. It's nothing extremely fancy, but the atmosphere is relaxed. Unless there's something new, they only had a character breakfast. Our last 3 trips we ate there for breakfast and dinner. Both meals offer a vast amount to eat. We eat at a lot of sit down places and this is more like home cooked meals w/ items you can pronounce so it's a nice change. You MUST try the Oreo Bon Bons. It's a Oreo Double Stuff topped with cookies and cream mousse enrobed in chocolate ganache....YUM YUM YUM..I'd go there for those alone!

I'm glad to see some others mention the oreo bon-bons before I had to. They are worth the price of admission by themselves.

Just a technicality, but I think the cookie is a single - not a double stuff. The mousse more than makes up for that though.

Great to see another Michigander on the DIS. (I'm from Portage/Kalamazoo.)

We love CMC. We did the seafood buffet last November and it was fantastic. Lots of choices, great service, and I echo the thought posted before regarding the Oreo bon bons. They are to die for!!!

I have also been there for the character breakfast, although many years ago. My father still talks about that being his favorite restaurant breakfast of all time!

I'm sure you will enjoy CMC. While you're at the BC, take a walk around - it's a beautiful resort. If Beaches N Cream is full, walk over to the Boardwalk for a treat! (As you can see below, we also love the kitchen sink!)

Have fun!

is the clam bake separate from the regular days/menu?
also DH :smooth: does'nt like seafood. is there beef available during the clam bake? thanks

They should have beef, chicken or ham as well. I've had ribs before. They're only open for breakfast and dinner, unless they've changed that recently. The cornbread is really good. On the kids side..they had chicken, mac and cheese, and pizza. There may be more but I can't remember all of them. Of course there's seafood too. I really liked the breakfast, too!
