We tried to make PS for Cape May Cafe today for our WDW trip in July. They told us they couldn't seat a party our size all at one table. There will be 7 of us, DW, 7yr old Tiplet DD's, and my inlaws.
Has any body dealt with this at Cape May? Is this the absolute policy or this what the person is told to say. The other question I have are there other restaurants at WDW that we may have this problem at? Thanks

I have been through this at Cape May... usually they will split your party up and seat you right next to each other I've never had a problem with it but I can understand how some would... as for the 2nd part of your question there is many restaurants that you may have this problem at. Many of the Restaurants pack as many tables as they can into the area they have (i know people will disagree with that but oh well) a couple of places off the top of my head San Angel Inn, 1900 Park Fare, Cindy's... These are the places that told us that they needed to seat us at two diff tables but they would be next to each other. The one thing I can say it that they will do their best to accomadate you.

Don't worry, when you show up they WILL be able to get you all together, it might just take awhile for a table to open.

Keep in mind that a PS is NOT a reservation, and even with one you might have to wait, especially if you are a larger party or have any special requests.

With a large party the best bet is to book your PS for when the restaurant first begins serving that meal. In that case you generally will never have to wait and will be seated together with no problem.

Other Restaurants that can handle a large party easily and are kid friendly:

Mama Melroses
1900 PF
Liberty Tree Tavern
Donalds
Le Cellier
Kona Cafe

Book two tables, and show up a little early for your PS, prepared to wait a bit. We've eaten at Cape May a few times with a party of 7 - 8, and they've always managed to seat us together. Good luck!

If I recall correctly, most seats at Cape May are booths or benches at the back and a couple of chairs in front. It shouldn't be a problem getting two booths beside or back to back but I can see how it would be difficult to seat more than 4 (maybe 5 ) people around one of these tables.

I just talked to my husband about this and we both agree, that they should have seating. After you walk in if you go all the way to the left, they have benches that go all the way across the wall. In front of that, the tables, then on the other side, the chairs. So there may be two tables conected or maybe a walkway between the tables, so people don't have to get up for two or three people who are stuck in the middle, but that should definately be doable for 7 people. One time we had 6 adults and 3 kids and sat together. Well go figure. Maybe it is the time they don't have seating for that number of people.

Well only an idea. Good luck, we wish you the best.

We definately know what it is like to go with a big party. We've had parties of 9 - 12 people at different times. It can be quite difficult getting into most restaraunts.
