How are the Cape May Cafe non-seafood options? My DD and I will be staying at the Beach Club next year. However, I haven't added Cape May to our list since I don't eat seafood and I don't think my DD will each much. But considering it is in the hotel I keep wondering if I should add it for the convenience.

As far as character meals go...I am already planning on Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and CRT so we won't be laking in character interactions. Just wondering if the food is worth the convenience.

The Cape May dinner is not a character meal...Only the breakfast...We love the character breakfast and is worth your time....They have a very large selection of yummy breakfast foods (hot and cold), terrific character interaction, and a calm atmosphere...

As for the dinner, it is not with characters... It is a "calm bake"... And yes there are non-seafood choices...They have prime rib, ribs, mashed potatos, salads, chicken fingers, fries, hot dogs, mac n cheese, pizza.... Just to name a few....The selection is large....We did not love this one....We didn't hate it either...The atmosphere is nice... Food selecion is large... But the food is just okay...Nothing to write home about....It is buffet dinner, so things are sometimes overcooked or just not the best that they can be...The desserts are very good...

I would 100% do the breakfast and maybe the dinner depending on your schedule.

Hi, I really enjoy dinner here...

great selection of salads and fresh cold veggies.
Also, just FYI, this is not a "seafood buffet" but rather a "clam bake." So lots of fresh steamed clams and mussels both plain and in light sauces...just scoop up all you want...They have great wet ribs (ribs covered with BBQ sauce) that are big and meaty. Very good mashed potatoes, lots of bread and rolls...so it is a big buffet.

Usual Kid menu fare for the buffet.

Several Soups, one great very different clam chowder. Always a fish like Salmon, not "prime rib" but a flank steak that is seasoned and good, but not prime rib. A very good baked chicken and a beef stew that is also different but good.

Desserts are not great in terms of variety but very good custard with fresh fruit that I really like...
Very mellow atmosphere with lots of beachy light pink and greens on the walls and on the cast members...
Good Luck...

I am not a big seafood eater but I love Cape May. The best salad bar, ribs, roasted chicken, love the mini hot dogs, baked ziti, sausage with peppers and onions, carved beef, mashed potatoes, great broccolini...just yum all the way around!

Cape May does have enough non seafood things and I would normally recommend it.

But I'm not going to now. The only reason you are thinking about it is for the convenience. There are SO many other options around Crescent Lake. And even just inside Epcot.

All you would need to do is add about ten-twenty minutes to your schedule and you might be a lot happier at another place.

Thanks for the responses...I didn't realize they only did the character interaction during breakfast, good to know. I am more of a breakfast person, but my DD has become very fond of ribs. I will leave this as one of our filler options and talk to my DD about it.

I don't eat seafood at all and this is one of my favorite meals-a must do for every trip. They have a lot of other choices for people like us :)
