We were just there this past week and ate there. I have to agree it was just ok. The shrimp is good, crab legs ok but other than that not worth the $42.00 each.
For me, the crab legs are good. But from there it is like any other buffet. Average food at best sitting on steam tables. IMHO, a buffet with food cooked or reheated from frozen shipments to serve the masses cannot approach the quality of a restaurant which prepares a meal to order and is fresh.
We love Cape May for breakfast but we were not impressed with the clambake at all. We waited an hour past our ADR time, the buffet was a madhouse, the food choices were lacking, the crab legs were stingy and stuck to the shell, our server was overwhelmed ...a lot of our issues stemmed from the restaurant holding a lobby full of people past their ADR time and then seating them all at the same time.
