We are intending to go to Cape Cod with my parents and DSs next August. We may choose to try to get one of the World Passport options.

Has anyone stayed at any of the timeshares in Cape Cod?

Does anyone have any non-DVC Cape Cod accommodation recommendations.

We will be 6 people total :grouphug: , so we will either need a condo with 3 BRs or at least 2 hotel rooms. Although I would prefer the convenience of a kitchen, we would also consider a nice resort.

Any thoughts or assistance would be most appreciated. :D

We have used cyberrentals to find a Cape Cod rental home a few years ago. We have also used them for rentals in Vermont at least a half-dozen times. We have never had a problem. Great selection. You can also order a hard copy of their listings. It's all on this link.

We rented a house on the cape during the summer- found it on
weneedavacation.com
these are for rentals by owners

We live on Cape Cod. Check out www.capecodderresort.com The accomodations are nice, central to anywhere on cape, have an indoor slide/wave pool, and the onsite restaurants are great. (It's not a II exchange, it's a hotel).

If you have any specific place or city in mind, PM me and I'll do my best to give you the real story. If your not familiar with the area, you can wind up in a places you won't like.

I can also help with restaurants, activities, etc.

I would recommend Sea Mist. It is a II exchange, but I would pay cash for it. I have a week there just to let the kids use the pools in the winter. It is immaculate! Pools indoor and outdoor wonderful! They have kids activitys, ceramics, poolside bingo things of that nature. There is volleyball (sand courts) Tennis courts. A great mini golf course free, by the way! You can lay by the indoor pool and watch the kids play mini golf. They have one and 2 bedroom units. Outdoor patios or decks. I can not stress enough how clean and safe this place is. You are half way between Woods hole and Hyannis. Approx, 4 miles to a wonderful beach and about a minute to a great outdoor shopping, dining complex. ( Called MAshpee commons. ) Any questions feel free to ask!

I had found the Cape Codder and am looking into it. I want to be (preferrably) somewhere mid-cape. I also looked at Ocean's Edge (very expensive) and have looked at the possibility of a rental. My concern with the rental is lack of a pool.

Any more ideas will be welcomed. Thank you.

I admit that a pool was not a concern for us. Where we stayed, we were near one of the public beaches (walking distance). If you don't mind the beach as opposed to a pool, you can find an inexpensive rental.

Either way, good luck. (We are actually staying in a Cape Cod motel next weekend!)

The Cove in Yarmouth is very nice. I like the Cape Codder and Sea Mist also. Ocean's Edge is very nice. With kids, I'd chose the Cape Codder for the pool!

The Ocean's Edge is nice, so is the Lighthouse in West Dennis located on the Ocean too. They have breakfast and dinner included with the price of accomodations, and a variety of setups from freestanding cottages to Inn rooms. There is also a nice pool, as well as a lighthouse!! There are waverunners, boats, a beach, and a great playground. There are also childrens programs to keep the kids busy. You do have to dress for dinner, but I don't mind that...

There is also that one in Chatham...The Chatham Bars Inn if you are looking for nicer accomodations. I also believe that the Pelham House, Cross Air and Cross Rip also all have pools and are on the Ocean as well. They are typical family spots in Dennisport...central to everything.

If your prime objective is cost and you want to keep it low...I would look at some of the cottage communities, to get cooking and a pool. But honestly many of these can be out dated, and a little dismal when you are used to traveling to nicer hotels. We rent out house, and used to always rent homes...we found the facilities much nicer, and have learned to live without a pool. If money is not so much of a driver, look into Ocean's Edge, Lighthouse Inn, and Chatham Bars, but be prepared to pay. I have friends that have stayed at Cross Air/Cross Rip, and go every year and love it.

PM me if you need help.

You may want to look into the Red Jacket Resorts. There are several in the South Yarmouth area. Great area. Close to everything. All have pools and you are on the Sound side of the Cape (warmer water). We have stayed at the Riviera a couple times. Here is the link http://www.redjacketresorts.com/
Green Harbor is also wonderful, however there is no onsite restaurant. Quite honestly most of the hotels, etc. on the Cape don't have onsite restaurants. I would stay away from the strip of hotels in Dennisport on the beach. Many of them have never upgraded since I was a kid (way too many years ago) and are just disappointing.

The Seacrest in Falmouth is very nice. Pool, beach, etc. However, it is not what I consider mid-cape. http://www.seacrest-resort.com/

I know it is confusing. Hope this info helps. You can also run comparison of hotels by town/city on www.tripadvisor.com
