I'm wondering if anyone thinks both parks will reach capacity on Jan 5th? I don't think I've ever heard of DCA reaching capacity, but I thought I'd check with the DISers.

No, it's just during the second week of X-mas break. I'm hoping most people will be leaving by mid-afternoon on Jan 6th.

If I was to take a guess, I would say no.

Many people might be leaving on the 5th. That's gives them one day (the 6th) to rest, catch up on laundry and whatnot, before having to go back to school/work and everyday life on the 7th.

Also, check Expedia for hotel rooms in the Disneyland area for the night of the 5th. The availability of rooms (or lack of availability) should give you a good idea of crowd levels for the parks that day.

It's been pretty easy getting room reservations, we're still on the fence for our arrival date. I'm still trying to decide if we're going to Hojo, Doubletree or PP for Jan 5th, big price differences between all of these. My DD said I've corupted her and she only wants PP. I have AP rates for Jan 6th and 7th at PP. I was thinking we could fly down Sat catch the Electrical Parade, then do the Segway tour on Sun morning so we don't have to waste any of Mon/Tues with shows, parades or fireworks.

Well if there's LOTS of rooms available for the night of the 5th, then that means the 5th shouldn't be a super crowded day at the parks!:thumbsup2
