Have always done either CG or Narcoosee's for firwork viewing. Next trip is just me and my best friend Mrs. Tiggers Ally. pirate:

Let me preface this by saying that she just got back from seeing the new fireworks from the desert party. I prefer not to be in the crowd so to speak.

My questions are- How is the view from the balcony at Capa? My guess is the food is probably much better than either CG or Narcoosee's? Anybody watched from there? Is it worth a nice relaxed dinner on a Saturday night arrival day with a distant view of the fireworks?

I have watched from Capa. First, amazing food and service. Definitely recommend for a special night out. The resort is beautiful - take some time to explore. If you can, time it to enjoy sunset at their rooftop bar. That said, if fireworks are the priority, not sure this is the spot. There is a view of both MK and Epcot fireworks. Music is not piped in (or wasn’t when we went). A lot of Illuminations is the globe on the lagoon and lighting around the pavilions and you can’t see that. In fact, if I recall our server welcomed us to go out to the deck to view but cautioned we might not see too much. For Wishes, however, they timed the meal around that and a server came to tell is when it was time to go out on the deck. Now with Happily Ever After I don’t think you’ll be able to make out the castle projections but definitely a decent, albeit distant, view of the fireworks. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the reply. Having been many times, seeing them from another viewpoint might be just what we need. I am not concerned with the Epcot views as we always make our last night solely for Illuminations dinner (it's my fave).

The food and service sounds like what I was looking for.
Also so glad someone replied. That way if the wifey doesn't like it, I have someone to point her finger too. :tigger: Just kidding and don't worry, she wouldn't hurt anyone unless they are messing with her three kids or heaven forbid the grandtinker! pirate: Thanks again.

Haha. My experience is a bit dated but we LOVED it. Hope you do too. Definitely review the menu to make sure it appeals. Illuminations also my favorite ... rumors of it being replaced next summer have me nervous.

Already perused the menu. Nice looking bar menu and looks good on the Beef. We approve! Did you have any special sides ( I go to the Yachtsman for the truffles mac) or apps? The corn side dish intrigues me. We often grill sweet corn here after soaking it in sugar water overnight. Then we take the unused and cut the corn off and will roast it in a frying pan the next day.

I highly recommend it and I also highly recommend the character breakfast at Ravello. The price is comparable or cheaper than other Disney character buffet breakfasts, the quality and selection of the food is *far* superior, and the character interaction (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy) was amazing - they came to our table at least 3-4 times each.

Will keep that in mind for next year when we take the grandtinker again.
