Canuck Buck-one more time?

What happened to the good rates of last December?? I have booked another cruise and I paid $1.297 on my Visa.

Last years cruise I paid $1.24! 5 cents does not sound like much but on a $10,000 vacation it is $500 in savings!

today has improved so far-
TDCT 1.2685
RBC 1.2691
SB 1.2775

Might be a good day to put some $ down on my vacation!

I wisht hat the dollar gets under $1.20 again. It sure would be nice and especially if it did in the next 45 days or so so. Here is to wishing anf hoping but I think I will have no such luck. Just have to remeber it is a lot better then it use to be

This morning we're at:

TDCT 1.263
RBC 1.263
SB 1.2675

Every little bit helps!

I think it's because the US annouced that it will be raising interest rates again...
...and Harper opened his mouth again yesterday (he's bringing down our dollar with his "I'm going to take down the government" mentality).

I'm pretty sure it's the former and not the latter. After last month's budget vote, I don't think foreign currency traders are particularly concerned about the stability of our (ahem) government.

I hate to disagree but when there was a real concern our gov't was gonig to fall the dollar was going down. As soon as things stabilized, the dollar gained strength.

I don't think we disagree. My point was that I don't believe there is currently any concern that the government is in any danger - or at least, not in any danger that they can't bribe their way out of... but I digress.

I think it will be around 80 cents and remain there with minor fluctuations above and below.

I can see this isn't the most recent thread but I could only remember "Canuck buck" when I did a search.

The dollar today is approaching 96 cents! 0.9587 at noon today.
