YAY That is so exciting!!!! Oct 11th is when we will arrive in the world for the first time ourselves, seems like so far away, but it will go by fast I'm sure

UH OH, our Disfriends better prepare themselves...we are going to be OFF THE HOOK hyper when our time draws closer! Disney firsts are AWESOME!!!

There are some great Fish Extender FB pages that you can ask to join. I'm on two of them and have seen so many great ideas! Just do a search on FB to find all of the different groups.

My DSs and I have been working on our FE gifts this summer. I'm a teacher and I'd really like for them to be done before school starts back up at the end of August. I have so many ideas though that I keep on adding more gifts. Oh well, we are having fun.

Will you be my new DCL best friend? All of your suggestions are so wonderful! I am going crazy now on the FE FB pages!!! I have already opened folders on my computer for magnet ideas, FE ideas... OBSESSED I tell ya!

Okay, I was obviously way behind on everything since I was late to the party, Connie. But I did read each chapter.

I love the movie nights...so much fun and inventive.

Congrats on the cruise; Mark and I keep talking about doing one, but we don't want to give up our visit to Marco Island every year.

I am either blind or I missed it; where are you staying in October?

I am over the moon excited...Brian tries to be all cool about it, but I know he is excited too. He keeps bringing up thoughts and ideas about it at random times, and he has a co-worker that he has conversations with ALL THE TIME about Disney cruises. He can't fool me...he is just as excited as the rest of us!

The FE exchange...my head is already about to explode with ideas right now. I have promised myself NOT to start obsessively planning for this cruise until our October vacation is over...but it is SO HARD not to!!!

Yes, the plans for this October were very confusing to follow, I will admit to that. We had some terrible financial problems for quite a while and our Disney vacation at a Disney resort became a FL vacation... invading my parents' condo! We are staying with them at the Royal Palms resort in Orlando. We plan to go to the beach, Sea World and Blizzard Beach while we are there.

Glad to have you along for the ride. It really shouldn't be hard to follow along, I do not update daily.

I'm a little behind, but SOOOO excited for you that you have booked your cruise. A Disney cruise is on my bucket list, but I haven't really done much research on them. I had no idea what a FE exchange was. So...I did what all inquisitive folks would do...I Googled it. I ended up on Pinterest...and let's just say it took me a while to get back here! How very cool!!!!! And now I want to go on a cruise...just for the FE exchange! LOL

I too am not a daily updater...quite the slacker actually! But I am super excited to follow along and hear all about your cruise plans. Maybe by the time you are done planning I will know everything I need to know about crusing!

I am by no means an expert, but I feel like I have learned so much since I booked my upcoming cruise in October, 2011 (yes you read that correctly) that I just want to pass on some of the things I've learned. I'm not sure if you ever visited the DISign board here on the DIS, but if you haven't, you should. The board is made up of DISers that will design magnets, FE's, shirts, etc. all for free. I'm working with someone to design some magnets for me to hang on our stateroom door.

I'm still very much looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming trip in October. I saw you have planned a day trip to BB. We went there last summer and had a blast. I'm sure you guys will love it, too!

Yes, I wasted NO time getting that ticker up when we plunked so much of our $$$ down to book that cruise! I may or may not have really rushed Brian into booking so that this would be "for real"...

Right now the only details I have are Disney Fantasy, October 11-18, 2014. We are cruising to: Cozumel Mexico, Grand Caymen, Falmouth Jamaica, and Castaway Cay. For the rest...you will have to wait until after our October trip when I start the PTR!

Yes, I do know ahout the Disigners. I am trying REALLY hard to do things myself. Rather than ordering magnets, I am creating graphics to print on card stock, laminate and add magnetic strips to. I did find the thread with the printable ears and hats you can put around your cabin number on your door. I have a few of those filed away to be used.

The thing is, we have GOT to save the remaining balance for the cruise, gratuities money, and souvie money before I can start thinking about the fun extras for the cruise. I have a savings chart created and ready to spring on my family when we get back from our October vacation this year. We will really have to stick to a strict budget for the next year...but the prize will be WELL WORTH IT!!!

I will start sharing the cool stuff I have planned, news, and ideas once I start the PTR after our vacation this year.

All in due time, my friend! I am having such a hard time focusing on planning my trip two months from now...my heart has been put on fast forward, but life hasn't!!!

Gift exchanges?? What is this fabulousness!? Do tell!

OMGoodness, Alyssa... this would be right up your alley, and I am sure with your awesome artistic talent, your gifts would put EVERYONE else's to shame!!! So, beside each stateroom door is this "fish" wall hook. Folks make these hanging pocket things. Each member of the family has a designated pocket. You arrange an exchange group (through the Disboards) before the cruise. I have already filled out a google doc with our names, ages, etc. So, during the cruise you drop inexpensive gifts in each other's little pockets. The gifts can be store bought or homemade. It looks like SO MUCH FUN! I am not all that crafty or creative, but Disboards and Pinterest have been my BFF's for the last week or so...I have SO many ideas already! Just google "fish extender exchange"... you can get your own glimpse of the fun!

So, many of you know that I work for a small, private university. We get text books in the mail all the time for faculty members to review. Publishers send them in hopes that our faculty member will use them in classes. I opened a very "magical" textbook review copy today...



I think I would automatically any professor that chose this book as the course textbook for a semester!

A Disney cruise might actually be in my future too. Jim is trying to decide where he wants to go for his 40th birthday trip in 2015. He's mentioned Vegas and Williamsburg as options (I know, how different can those two locations be? ). Just the other day, he threw out an Alaska cruise as an idea. Of course my brain immediately thinks DISNEY CRUISE!! He'll probably pick Vegas so I'm not getting my hopes too high.

Welcome Back! So glad you had a great trip up to see family. Yeah, not too hard to stay caught up on mine since I don't really do the daily updates.

I am so excited and so hyper about the cruise. Our whole family is...even Brian! He tries to play all cool about it, but he comes home from work sharing new cruise information he gets from the guys he works with. Apparently he works with two fellow Disney fans!

Oh, I so hope Jim picks a Disney cruise for his 40th!!! That would just be freaking awesome!!!
