Can't waitlist with developer points

I didn't realize this, but was told today that we could not waitlist for a Jan booking with developer points. I just thought we couldn't bank/borrow/transfer or use them at a resort different than their home - oh well.

I guess we will be staying at SSR alot this summer!

Stinks - doesn't it! I am desperately trying to get a studio at SSR for the evening of Jan 18th. I have the 17th and the 19th but I just can't seem to catch the 18th. I am really hoping that more cancellations come thru in the next few weeks.

We're also going to be at AKV the 2nd week of June - have a 2 bed booked at Kidani and another at VWL to try and move over. I figure the worst that can happen is we end up at WL - tough but we'll make it!

I know there are rooms open at SSR on the 15th, but slim there after. Everything is booked pretty much all over - DVC and regular resorts too. I know it is the Marathon and the holiday, but wow!

Jan 17th is mu son's birthday so we added a quick trip down with a great airfare deal. Luckily my mom is a CM and we have cash reservation back ups with her discount. Just hate spending cash when we have those extra points!

Fortunately I think we'll be spending the summer down there (travel nursing) so we should be able to use SSR at that time.

My DS#2's b-day is the 19th and I booked this last minute trip as a special gift for him. I still can't seem to get that studio for the 18th but I did manage to finally get a room at SSR for that night - a Grand Villa!!!! I have the points to burn so I figured it was better to take that then plan on camping out on Main St. for the night
