I think next week while my family is out of town.... I might go to the Animal Kingdom on one of my free days from work! I never been to AK before. I really want to see Stanely, take the Safari, and maybe visit the AKL!

Is there anything else exciting I should remember?!?! BTW I have a map and an Offical Guide, but that usually doesn't cut it when it comes to this site! hehe!

Do the "Dinosaur" ride. Other than that, we honestly didn't enjoy Animal Kingdom too much. Supposedly there is a new "mountain" they are building which should open next year (I think), which might make this land as much fun as the others.
That said, it is nice to just walk around and check out the sites.

It was closed for rehab I guess. We agree...didn't enjoy AK too much. Dinoland was more like a carnival you would have in your local hometown rather than at Disney. Hate to tell you that because some people love it. This was our second time and still weren't impressed at all.

:(

I you really like the Disney stage productions (e.g. Beauty and Beast at MGM) you'll probably like the Lion King show.

The Tough to be a Bug 3D movie is OK, but even more interesting is the waiting area (among all of the carvings of the Tree). It's worth experiencing if the lines aren't too long.

The walking path to see the tigers is nice. Other than that, there are a few minor attractions/shows.

Wow! I didn't think anyone would reply!

I know I want to see the stage shows and the parades. I knew there isn't too much but I'd like to try it at least once.

I figure after I do the stuff I want to do. I'll just resort hop, maybe see the BW and visit DTD! Or maybe Celebration?!!

I know I've got less than 84 days til my "Official" Disney trip, but hey I've already gone twice in the past two or three months! I just can't get enough! Hehehe!

I loved It's a bug's life, which surprised me, although I wouldn't take small children. FOTLK is a must and I always enjoy that production.

You'll have a great trip!

I love AK! Last time I went, we spent all day there and didn't cover everything. But I enjoy watching the animals and strolling down the paths. Maybe I'm in the minority but IMO everything doesn't have to be a thrill ride to enjoy it. I think the Lion King show is one of the best on WDW property. If a person is willing to take their time, and has any interest in animals, this is a great park. I hope you have a great trip!

We LOVE AK....so just do it!!! : ) Actually its my second favorite park next to MK of course. It's DS's favorite, he's a science nut (loves Epcot too). I think people either love it or (I won't say hate it) don't care for it, its a personal choice. But if you've never been you'll never know which one of those people you are.

Make sure to do Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur (if its open), Its Tough to be a Bug, Kali River Rapids again, the Safari, Kali River Rapids again....can you tell we love Kali??!?!?!

Have a great time.

That's so cool you can just pop over to WDW on the spur of the moment! :) If you eat at AK, Tusker House has some good, non-fast food type of food. If you like salmon, it's really good there!! :) Have fun!

AK sort of grew on me and I think it's one of the best parks to tour alone.

When you arrive, go to Guest Services and purchase a voucher for a meal. On your meal voucher will be a coupon for a bottle of water or soda as as well as a voucher for ice cream or pop corn. This is a good deal if you plan on being in the park most of the day.

Safari - good attraction - best at opening of park or just before it closes. The animals are most active in the beginning or late day.

Festival of the Lion King - not to be missed!

Tarzan Rocks - good music!

Primeval Whirl - BEFORE you eat, not after :hyper:

I like the walk the two trails - usually do one per visit. I like to see the Tigers.

Kali River Rapids - not my favorite but was a lot of fun when I rode with a huge family - they made it fun. My dd loves this ride and we usually get pretty soaked.

Feeding time is around 5pm at the AKL. I love watching the giraffes stroll over closer to us to get the food sitting in the trees. Great lobby - I think one of the cosiest for reading a book.

Have fun!

I think that would be a blast to go by myself! Just think of all you could cover! No advice here since I've never been to AK, but have a great time when you go!

Thank you all for the wonderful info so far! Soon as I know what day I'm off I'll have to check the park hours for AK, then I'll know how to plan my day!

BTW I just stopped by my Disney Store and got 3 new tink shirts and a beach towel! So happy!

I also admit liking the Wonders of Flight show, and Tarzan is a HUNK! Disney aways has great musicians at the shows.
