Can't seem to find availability for February?

I was looking at a one week trip in one of the first two weeks in February. Using the Disney site (as well as a few external sites) I'm seeing no availability. Do they hold back a certain number of rooms for upcoming promotions?

I had thought that this was a slow time of the year, and thought I would have no problem booking 7 months in advance.

What am I overlooking?? Thanks for any suggestions.

You won't find resort rates or be able to make any bookings online until they release the rates for next year. This should happen within the next few weeks.

In the meantime you can make a room only reservation (at the highest current room rate) by phone.

You can't make online reservations for 2014 until they release the 2014 prices, which I think will be later this summer.

You can make reservations on the phone 499 days prior to your trip. If you do it over the phone, they base your rate on the 2013 rates and adjust when the new rates come out.

I'm guessing I'm safe to wait for the rates to be released, and would be able to re-book if a promotion should pop up? Normally we go when the values are so reasonable and just book the room (no packages).

Rumor has it the 2014 rates will be out July 10th. If you book once the rates are released and a discount comes out later for your dates, your existing reservation can easily be modified, provided the resort/room type you have booked is available under the discount. Sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort/room type as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied.

No longer a rumor.....I called 2 different times today and rates are coming out on July 10th. I mean CM's at reservations are never wrong!

July 10th is the official word from Disney for 2014 package rates. That doesn't mean it couldn't change, but that date is Disney's official statement.
