What could I be doing wrong? Whatever dates I put in, I get the same message - 'there has been a problem with your search criteria...'

This has been the case for a few weeks. I am trying to get prices for next October, flying from BHX or London. I have browsed prices on the website before, so I know that I'm filling in the relevant details correctly. The site seems to have blocked me! Perhaps it's because I keep pricing up holidays and never booking...;)

:lmao:

No I don't think so. ;) When I had problems with that a couple of years back I was told it was because there was nothing available. For example, I wanted a Glasgow flight and there weren't any and that was the message it gave me. I put in another airport and it generated a result. You may find that they don't have availability for the date that you are requesting (either flights or accommodation) or that you are looking too early. Non availability with a TA does not mean there is nothing available. It simply means that the particular travel agency may not have a quota for one of the elements of the booking you are looking for.

If that was the case I would have been blocked for sure.:rotfl2:
I am not having any problems searching next Oct.
If still having prolems clear your temp internet files, cookies and history. If that doesn't work post the search details and let someone else try and see why the problem. I am only here until 1pm then not on again til tomorrow evening so hope you post before 1pm.

Thanks! I've only just got back in so I'll try clearing history/cookies and have another go.:)

thought thomas cook airways went from gatwick, Virgin do as well,
the issue might be searching london or heathrow (london sometimes throws up the local airport)

try searching with the airport code LON
this covers all surrounding airports to london.

lol you still having problems with it :rotfl::rotfl:. Think it must be trying to tell you something :rotfl2:

OK, I cleared my cookies etc. I changed the dates/airport/number of people/destination and it still refuses to show me a price. I am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong. I tried flight+hotel instead of package - zilch.:confused3

Thats all I can suggest now, post exact details of your search and let someone else try, see if they can spot he problem.

If all else fails you may need to use your work computer if you can ;)

OK, still no joy. I'm trying to search 25/10/10 14 nights, 2 adults/3 children 12,8,5. Flying from BHX or London or Manchester. Staying Lake Buena Vista/Orlando in 1 bed. Alternative dates are 24/10/11. I am trying to see the sort of availability/price of packages so that I can get a rough idea for booking next year. :)

Its your dates the problem, they don't fly on the 25th Oct but the search engine is not great, change it to 23/10/10 and 45 holidays should show.

For Oct 11 couldn't get a price beyond 8th Oct, not sure if anyone else has.

Just editing to say this was Manchester, didn't look at others

For Gatwick you need to search 22nd Oct 10.
Looks like you can only find holidays if you search the exact days they fly, it won't give alternatives if you enter a day they don't fly.

Thanks Wayne. I tried these combinations you suggested and did get holidays listed but only 6. :confused3

6 holidays? I found TC didn't have the same volume and range available. They also don't offer packages/accommodation for all the resorts. For some reason though whenever I went into the TA they were able to call up more. Not sure how their system works. Airports are also a major factor. For example, putting in Glasgow used to yield me nothing on the search. Likewise the London v Manchester deparatures brought up different resort availability. It seems the search tool on their site only generates results for exactly what you put in, which is slightly annoying because you have to manually try every option. I think Wayne mentioned this as well.

Just been messing some more, changing the drop boxes can make a massive difference. For example I just changed the Resort or city from any resort or city to Orlando and it reduced the holidays available from 51 to 2.

So this was my search exactly
Beach holidays
Florida
Any resort or City
London Gatwick
22/10/10
14 nights
2 ad 3 ch age 12, 8 & 5
All stars
All board basis
All budget

That is giving me this result "We've found 49 holidays"

Change resort or city to Florida and it gives "We've found 52 holidays"

Have a look again and see if any of these settings are different to what you are searching.

Thanks Wayne, it worked.:cool1: It was really starting to annoy me, so thanks for sorting that out. What a terrible website though - you have to be pretty specific to get any results.

Glad you got it sorted, I was running out of ideas.:goodvibes

Ha ha - I like to keep the Mods busy.;) Can you imagine what I'll be like when I'm actually ready to book?:scared1:
