We are on ME, heading to BCV. We've had a week to remember in New Jersey, many friends and family are still in shock. We packed in the dark last night, with our last flashlight batteries dying, and then me following my wife around with candles. We almost feel guilty for being here, and its quite surreal to not be dealing with the current realities of life in NJ after Sandy. We have shed many tears for our friends and family, especially those who have lost it all. We have dealt with frustration, anger, angst and survival, going meal to meal and thankful for any distraction. We didn't know if we'd even make it to the airport because we couldn't find gas to get there; I spent 5 hours yesterday and finally got $40 worth--just enough.
We are having a hard time accepting that we are here, but will make the most of it and have fun with our kids who are so deserving after the last week, they've been angels who have not complained once.
Despite the countless trips we've made to WDW and all those to come, I suspect this will be the one we appreciate the most and never forget. Most importantly, our thoughts will remain with those struggling with such tremendous loss.
