My husband's currently at WDW and sent me the video from the end of the Spaceship Earth ride. My computer made me download a boatload of Quicktime software, but I'm still getting an error message when I try to play it.

Any thoughts? Anyone else have a hard time or is it me and my computer? :confused3

Not sure which browser you are using, but one thing I always try is Internet Explorer. I am a bigtime user of Firefox, but for some reason, some programs just won't run there. In fact, I think I had the same issue as you, and IE fixed it. Good luck!

This happened to me too and I never did figure it out. I've *saved* the email/video but it just doesn't play. I use IE so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I was bummed.

Good luck figuring it out OP!

Still no luck.

Thanks Momof4 for the suggestion. I have Vista and I know it has its "issues". :badpc:

And since misery loves company, DisMN, at least I'm not alone.

I've already spent w a y too much time on it. He sent the same video to our sons, so I'll see if either of them got it. One has a MAC and one an older version of Windows, so maybe one of them got it.

Thanks again for the replies.

Yesterday I downloaded Quicktime. When I open the link there's a ? on top of the Quicktime Q logo, which doesn't seem like a good thing.

When I then click on the "download this video" I get a full screen Apache Tomcat/5.5.15 Error Report.

I'm thinking if I take the next plane to WDW, march myself right to Spaceship Earth and ask a CM, maybe someone there could help! Not sure why I didn't think of that before.

Did the email get sent to your "junk" or "spam" box? If so, maybe it's not playing because of that? Try moving it to your inbox and see what happens. I know there are certain "junk" emails that I can not view when using Outlook, but once I move them to my inbox, I'm good to go.

Good call about it arriving in the junk mail folder. How could anyone think e-mail from Disney was junk?!?

Alas, moving it to the inbox didn't seem to resolve the issue, but I appreciate the suggestion.

Still thinking going to Epcot myself and asking if the best solution. :)

Feel free to post that solution, as we can't open our postcard from the future, either. All we can see is the photo of us as underwater adventurers from the future. I can't get the video to work. Imagine the buzzkill when I tried to open it in front of the family, and it bombed out.

:dance3: I got it!

I'm sure it's a fluke, but here's what I did. Based on jgetterman's question about junkmail, after I moved the e-mail from junk to my regular inbox, I forwarded the e-mail to another e-mail address I have. Miraculously it worked in the other inbox. Like I say, I'm sure it was a flluke, and I had already downloaded a heap of Quicktime software, but it worked. Wish I could give a more concrete suggestion as to why I was finally able to play it.

Hope the rest of you can eventually get it to work, it's a cute video and a nice souvenir from Spaceship Earth.

Good Luck!

Yay! I'm so glad it worked for you.

I don't know why some emails can't be opened in "Junk". Whooooooo Knows???????
