just called to make adr for a cinderella character breakfast for June 7,2006. there were spaces available, but here is the problem. The credit card is in my husbands name. the ressies were for me(dw) and 2 girls. they told me that the cardholder must be registered to eat at the character breakfast and show ID. my dh and 3 boys that will be with us do not want to go eat breakfast with cinderella. Has this happened to anyone else. we will not be getting the dining plan because we will be staying at the wilderness cabins.

If you are an authorized user on the card you should have a card with the same account number and your name embossed on the card. That is standard practice with all credit cards.

Does your debit card have a MC or Visa logo?

Get a credit card in your name then.

My thought exactly. My DH and I have several accounts which belong singly to one or the other but we are both authorized on and both have a card in our name.

::yes::

DH and I both have a couple of CC's in our own name, but we are authorized users on each other's cards.

I would definitely have a card issued in my name. You never know when you'll need it. I can't imagine not having any cc's or debit cards in my name.

According to your sig you're 12yo, which could explain the problem. I'm assuming you're really the mom. :earboy2:

We were just at CRT last week. We were never asked for ID or the CC that we initially used to book CRT. Neither was anyone else in line. Also FYI, Cinderella is now in the lobby at all times. Fairy Godmother walks around upstairs now instead. They do this so they can get pictures with Cinderella for them to hawk to you while you are eating. They cost $29.99.

This is what I would do. Have your husband call and have a card isssued with your name imprinted. If you will only need it for this transaction, cut it up/cancel it after you get home from your trip.

Sidenote:
I work retail and we do not take any card without the imprinted person present. An acceptor of CC payment can not expect payment if the imprinted person is not the party initiating the transaction and/or signing the sales slip.

I understand Disney is most likely doing this so that situation like the old Royal table angel network doesn't start up again, but they could lose their CC accepting rights (unlikley) for accepting CC's from persons other than the card holder.

Good luck Penny

I was just able to book & pay for our friends at CRT. Granted it was for dinner, but still.

The CM made a note on the account (I have a seperate reservation there, so maybe that helped).

But the ADR is in my friend's name & I paid for it with my cc.

sorry, i am mom. we meant for this to be a name we both could go under, but I now see that she has taken it over. I guess I will have to get my own username now. I have never had problem making any ressies with my husbands cc before(that is all we use it for) so I guess I will have to make him call and put me on the account. hopefully it can happen this week or I will have 2 disappointed teens!( I would think they would be too old to be this excited about cinderella)

Why not have it be under your DH's name with the 2 girls but you show up for the meal?

But ITA with the others, definitely get a card with your name on it too.

I was told the same thing - the cardholder would have to be there, IDs would be checked, and I'd have to pay with the same credit card used to pay the deposit (not an issue for you, as you're paying for the whole thing in advance). Turns out none of that was true in our case. However, you don't want to take any chances - I was probably there on a "lax" day. And you definitely need a credit card in your name anyway, IMHO. I would go ahead and make the reservation now, and have your husband put you on the account (if you're not already on it) and order a card in your name. You've got plenty of time for that if you're not going until June.
