I keep crossing this off and then re-adding it to my trip.

I have looked at the menu a hundred times and while I consider myself an adventurous eater there are many flavors I havnt tried before. That being said the only thing I havnt liked in my 20 years of life is yellow mustard and cooked spinach lol. I am tempted to try it but I am nervous about my DSis12. She is getting a lot better about trying things.

Should I just go for it and hope for the best? It would be our last dinner of the trip and I would hate to leave on a sour note.

Hi! It's the BEST BUFFET at Disney in my humble opinion. They also have kids fare such as chicken fingers, fries, macoroni and cheese, bread, salads and fruit and DESSERT! And that's only the kids menu!

Have fun!

Hands down, our favorite restaurant at Disney! We LOVE it! I think you should absolutely give it a try! Not everything on the buffet is that exotic as far as flavors go...and the deserts are awesome! We never miss Boma and I have even found some of the recipes online and I recreate them at home when we are missing it! Do not cross this off you list ;)

Boma is an absolute must IMO. Love the food, the atmosphere is great, the chefs are the most helpful I've found when dealing with food alergies.

In short, it's great, you really should go.

You should seriously try this place. There is so much to try, there is bound to be something that you will love! :yay:
And think of it this way...if you don't like something than you don't have to eat it, then you can go back and get something else.
I just take small portions to start of all the things I want to try...then go back and get what I like most! ;)

Thanks for the opinions. Ive been doing some research and it seems like pretty much everyone on the boards has good things to say about Boma. I think I will stick with it!!

I am not an adventuresome eater...true meat and potatoes girl, starting to do much less meat, more veggies. But...I love Boma. I find something interesting and new to eat every time I eat there. My now 16 y/o dd is truly picky...but she enjoys eating there as well. Yes, we have had to pay for her as an adult every time we have eaten there, but she still heads right to the kids section of the buffet and gets plenty to eat.
It's a true win-win for us.

I vote for staying with Boma! We loved their breakfast and tried their dinner last July for the first time. It was excellent! I'm not even a fan of buffets, but this was great!

We just tried Boma this last week.

Our family was excited to try so many different dishes that we would not normally try.

I am not a picky eater, and was willing to try many things.

I will have to say that I was smart in only taking small bits of everything, because after I tried it , there was not alot that I really wanted more of.

The meats and desserts were great, so believe me, I had plenty to eat. But I found out that many of the dishes were not good for my taste.

At the same time, we are so glad that we tried Boma, the atmosphere was great, and it was fun to try new things, however, we will not be going back.

We love it! We eat there every trip, even with picky eaters. If all else fails, and you don't care for it, the resort is absolutely beautiful! The storyteller is great if you make time to see that around your meal, and it is really close to AK theme park if you are doing it on a day where you will be at AK!

Bon Apetit!

We tried Boma for breakfast when we were there in September and it was delicious. The juice was so good and the buffet had so many choices that would satisfy any palate. I would reccomend Boma to anyone any day.

Oh how I wish I was there.......

We love Boma & have it on our list for June!! Can't wait to go back, we skipped it the last 2 trips only because there was so many other places we wanted to try! This year it knocked Whispering Canyon off the list.......decisions, decisions!!!!!

That's funny, next year we are knocking it off our list for a repeat of Whispering Canyon!

We stayed at AKL a couple of years ago and it rained so hard that we couldn't leave the resort for the morning, so if we wanted to eat breakfast we had to try Boma. My DH is a meat and potatos guy so I wasn't sure what would happen and we LOVED it. So when we go in May my DH asked for only one ADR, Boma. We're going to try dinner this time, so we're excited.

While we love breakfast at Boma dinner for us was a bust...the falafel with mustard sauce was excellent but the other food was heavily sweet, cooked with vanilla and cinnamon and I dont like my dinner foods to taste like dessert

We tried Boma in January. We are definitely going back.

My husband hates buffets, and I had planned for Boma to be our first dinner of the trip. I was nervous about his reaction. Two bites and he proclaimed the place fantastic. It exceeded all expectations. He's all carnivore, I'm all vegetarian, and my daughter is all picky-7-year-old. We all left happy.

I loved the salads, the soups (OH, the soups!), the vegetables, the many hummuses (!), and the enormous array of desserts. We did the culinary tour later in the week and were able to taste some more soups. ALL delicous.

CANNOT wait to go back in a few months.

We have been a few times just because we stayed at AKL. It's ok there was a good variety of food and the staff are lovely. I say go for it, it's best to regret something you have done rather than something you have not!

Since there is plenty for non-adventerous eaters to try at Boma, and the setting is so unique, my suggestion would be to go for it. You can try some of the unique African-inspired offerings, but if you don't like them there is plenty of more familiar food to fill you up. I don't think you would end your trip on a sour note if you give Boma a try.
