Can't go to Disney right now

I just want to complain to some people who will understand. Before anyone jumps my butt, I know I should be happy because we still have jobs, etc, but I'm so upset right now. I just have to tell someone because my boyfriend doesn't understand. We got a pin code for percentages off certain rooms. I priced our trip and the four of us can go in a moderate for $4800 for 7 days. That includes spending money, airfare, food, tips, room, park tickets. Everything! We can't do it right now. We're saving for a wedding. I know that's more important, but it's so disappointing. My kids are 8 and 6 and haven't been yet. Someone please tell me there will be good deals next spring too when we were planning to go so I can stop feeling bad about the money savings we could have had.

Saving for a wedding? Why not make Disney your wedding? You could save money and get a vacation - win win!

I agree with PP... That would be awesome.. That price kind of sounds steep to me... We are going in Feb for 4 nights 5 days including the dining plan and its a little over $1,000 ( in a value resort) We have a 2 year old and I don't really care about staying somewhere expensive.

I'm gonna have to agree, that price sounds steep.

Dh and I took dd's Christmas before last, and paid $4000 for everything (moderate room, dining plan, airfare, park hopper tickets, tips, souvenirs (lots since 1st time ever for dd's), etc.)

Think you could do just as good, if not better, when you do decide to go.

ETA: Our trip was 8 nights.. forget to say that.

we went for the first time in october. My kids are 10,6,2 and stayed at the poly club level. for 6 days, tix, food, airfare it was $4200

You can definitely get the price down on your trip. We're going next week. 3 adults ( one of my kids is 15 so adult according to Disney), 1 child ( my 3rd kid is on my inlaws reservation and the baby is free). 7 nights at Pop Century, table service dinig....I believe the total was around $2,600.

We drive since there's so many of us...easier for us too IMO. So roughly $350 in gas. Another $200 in tips. And $350 for souveniers, etc.

Whole trip will run us about $3,500. And that with having 3 adults...vs. 2 for you.

Go to WDW.

Get a marriage certificate and then go before a JP, Minister, Priest, Rabbi or the like and you are married. Plan the WDW trip for the day after the marriage.

Don't feel bad that you can't go yet. Keep saving the money. The first time we went the kids were 7 & 9 and I am glad that we waited that long. The kids were amazed by everything they saw and really appreciated all that Disney has to offer. Since they were older we could stay in the park all day and not have to suffer through tantrums or melt downs.
That said, I do agree with other that you should be able to get the price down. Check out the free dining offer right now. If you stay 4 in a room that is a better deal than the room discount. (At least for us:thumbsup2)

I like the idea of the PPs, go the route of a JP or similar, use the tips on this board to bring your associated costs down and use the money you're saving for a wedding on Disney. Disney has adorable wedding type hats that you could wear there if you wanted. :goodvibes
