I used to love the Great Movie Ride, but it had been a while since we were there last and the latest update now includes Tubular Bells, the theme from The Exorcist. The hair stood up on my arms and back of my neck and I had some trouble falling asleep that night. (I'm a weenie, I know).

I don't think I can go back in and hear that again which is sad because I absolutely love the Wizard of Oz portion. :(

Which portion of the ride is it in? Alien already gets to me (I'm a chicken, too). Or was it just at the end with the montage video?

If folks don't want spoilers, could you message that to me? GMR is one of my favorites! I didn't know they were changing things to it. :(

I'm sure it's in the video at the end of the ride.

It's in the end with the new montage of clips. So it's only for a few seconds.

Since you love the exorcist so much you should take a trip this year to Universal Studios for Halloween horror nights. One of the houses they've announced so far is The Exorcist. So you get to walk through all the classic scenes!

No Universal Halloweens for me! Too many undead running around over there, lol!

I could try covering my ears but honestly, I know it's there and it would have the same effect. It's scaring me now and my office is brightly lit!

I remember when the Alien section was a lot scarier. When I was younger, I swear they had an actual alien sort of drop down from the ceiling. I even seem to remember some mucus dripping. I remember it so vividly that 13-14 years later, when I went back as an adult, I was all mentally prepared for it, but it didn't happen. I don't know if they removed it or we just got lucky.

Did they take out that alien that lowers down out of the ceiling?

I remember that too, from my first trip. That thing scared me!

It's still there as far as I know. If you are in the very back, it is harder to see since it kinda reaches out for the front of the car more then retreats into its hole.
This.

We rode it a few weeks ago. It's still there (ceiling and side), but if you are at th back, you might not notice it.

So is it just some of the theme music stuck in or does it actually include a clip from the movie? :scared:

They use the first 15 seconds of the theme with the little blonde girl from Poltergeist saying "they're here" and a few other "scary movies" the whole section lasts about 15 seconds

Oh okay. good deal....the girl from the Exorcist still gives me nightmares and I cannot erase those images from my head. Wanted to make sure my kiddos were not going to have to endure that lol.

If it makes you feel better, I was traumatized by the witch from Snow White after watching it live at Radio City Music Hall when I was 4. To this day (I turn 40 in August) I get terrible panic anytime I see her anywhere in the parks. Heck, even anything SNOW WHITE related gets me edgy because I'm afraid I'll see her. I have to power through a lot of the park...even forced myself to take a picture with the character once at a meet. It was kind of awful. I cringed and leaned away from her the whole time. I told her "You scared me so much as a kid I think you may have ruined my childhood!" She was VERY happy about that LOL. Clapping and jumping up and down. Witch.

I don't like scary movies and I don't watch often maybe one in 5 years. But the movie that haunts me is Pinocchio! He gets abducted by Gideon and honest John, then the whole pleasure island and then mostro seriously!?!? I just can't I am an adult an still terrified of getting abducted.

I have seen the exorcist and while I did loose sleep a couple nights it has not linger like Pinocchio. We are going to HHN this year and now I am terrified why did they add the exorcist and Texas chainsaw massacre all in one year:sad2:. But I already promise DH.

Your avatar is awesome! I've watched the entire series 5 times. Can't get enough of it.

I love the Tubular Bells song even though it's from a scary movie. Can you not separate the two? Or as others said cover your ears when they do the suspense portion.
