Can't get the value rate during value season?

I want to go to Pop Century from 8/25 - 9/4, which is supposed to be value season. However, when I am quoted rates, they give me $1215 for the 10 day stay, which doesn't include tax. That seems awfully high for value season! Any help or suggestions to get the price down? It's the same for ASMu too.

I just went over to www.disneyworld.com and checked and it gave me the same price but it was giving you a preffered room instead of standard and i took that away and it brought the price down a little over 100.00 dollars. It was including tax on that price but you are not in value season the price per night was 99.00 so you may want to go to www.mousesavers.com and check to see if you can find out when value season starts at AS resorts.

I believe for 2004 that is considered regular season according to disney web page. Regular season is from 4/18 to 8/28 and then value season starts 8/29. But even at regular season pricing should be 99 for a standard and 109 for a preferred..

Call back... there are quite a few people who said they have been quoted incorrect pricing for the values. So try again. Because if that number doesnt include tax, that is not the correct amount.

Value Season for Pop starts 8/29 for 2004 according to the WDW website.

I did find that if I took away the preferred view it saved about $100. I think it was on this web site that it said value season at the PC started 8/24. I tried mousesavers last night but their web site was overwhelmed and I couldn't get through. Would I be better off waiting a while before booking?

I would go ahead and book now,but if you could put your trip off a few days it would save you a little over 200.00 for 10 days. The seasons are not going to change.Another thought is if you are planning on staying 10 days you could get an AP and see if AP rates come out for you time period and you could get rooms for about 50.00-60.00 a night.

Also, I believe that the rate you're charged is based on the season at your checkin date. IOW: if you check in on a "regular season" day, your whole trip will be at regular season rates.

If your trip does span two seasons, you might look into making two separate reservations- one for each season's dates.

(For anyone who's dealt with this lately, does it still work this way?)

Yes it does,Iforgot to mention that:teeth:

It absolutely works to have two separate reservations. I have this for my upcoming vacation, as well as the last two visits to both DL and WDW. What you will have to do is to go back to the front desk the next morning and recheck in. They can note that you are already in the room and most likely would not have to move after one night (but no guarantee).

I would just pack a bag for one night for all of your party just in case. I have always found the CM's to be very accomodating if you tell them at check in both the reservation numbers.

Have a great trip.

I was going to recommend just that!

From your dates, it looks like this is a Pre-goback to school trip, so i bet its hard to push back.

I would definetly make 1 ressie from 8/25 - 8/29 and the other from 8/29 - 9/4. When you fax your room request in, be sure to list both ressies and request to keep the same room, that will keep A LOT of hassle down. Also, there will prob be a code for then to save even MORE money! YAY

Good luck with CRT and have a great holiday

Thank you all so much for your help. I think we will push back by 4 days - our school doesn't start until the 8th so we can stay until the 6th and still have time to drive back. By waiting 4 days and shaving off 2 nights we saved almost half. You have all been great!

At first I thought everyone is crazy:
For Deluxe, and Home away from Home Resorts the dates are

Value Season is: 1/1-2/11, 7/5-9/29, 10/31-12/19
Regular Season is: 4/18-7/4, 9/30-10/30

Then I went to the Walt Disney World Resort site and under the Value and Moderate Resorts they have different dates???

Value Season is: 1/1-2/11, 8/29-9/29, 10/31-12/19
Regular Season: 4/18-8/118, 9/30-10/30

I have never noticed the two different (Seasons dates) for different Resorts?

I guess you learn something new everyday?
