Can't get my Bluray player connect to the internet!!

So, we have a Panasonic DMP-BD65K. Has wireless internet capabilities, however, you have to buy an $80 adaptor to use them!! I read somewhere that you can do a "bridge" with this?? Anyone know how??

You still need the wireless adapter, there is nothing inside the Blu-Ray player to use to connect to the internet (some offer a hard wire connection if you have a connection close by), so you need the adapter first.

Bridging allows you to take two types of connections (ie. Wireless and Wired) and connect them together, but I don't see how this would be any help in this case, again, if the BluRay player has a hard wire connection and you have a connection near by, you can use it. If not, you must have the adapter.

I got a Sony for Christmas, dh plugged it in, inputed our wireless numbers and away we went.

I would be beyond ticked if I had to buy an adaptor. Frankly I would return it if you can.

A lot of people buy based on price not considering features like WiFi. I know many people who have boughten a Blu-Ray player only to realize they want to use WiFi and have to buy an adapter or more expensive player that has it built in.

When I first got my Blu-ray player I read about that but the instructions were too complicated for me so I didn't bother. I found the instructions by googling.

Otherwise I would look and see how much a Blu-ray player that doesn't need the adapter would cost. If the price difference is less than $80 return the one you got; if it is more than $80 buy the adapter.

In my case the adapter was $70 and the cheapest Blu-ray player that didn't need it was over $100 more than the one I bought, so I just went ahead and got the adapter.
