Can't get GF Cafe dinner reservations at 180+10 days out?

Having a hard time understanding why I can't reserve dinner reservations at Grand Floridian Cafe at the 180+ day mark? I can get all of the other hard to get ressies that I want but not this one.

Is it like The Plaza which is only walk up past 4pm?

Nevermind, looks like it is due to the size of our party. We have 7 and I can make reservations for up to 6 guests. When I up it to 7, no dice.

Think I would have trouble reserving for 6 but showing up with one more? I've never done that before.

I could do a reservation for 4 and 3 but only if they could guarantee that we would sit together which I don't think they can do.

It wasn't that way in January.

Maybe Disney hasn't dropped the availability for the Cafe yet?

Try a party of 8.

If that does not work, try a party of 6 and a party of 2 for the same time.

Follow JZCube's advice but don't show up with extra people and expect to be seated. It almost never works.
