We have an upcoming cruise in May. I cant get excited about booking anything until we actually get on the ship. We are in good health, all shots and boosted, but still until we are actually ON the ship, I don’t even want to book anything ( dining, shore excursions, spa to, etc). Anyone else go through this anxiety?

If you're cruising out of Port Canaveral it's now an antigen test.

We are 19 days from sailing and I still have anxiety about testing positive at the port, even though it’ changed to antigen.

I didn't let myself get excited in the weeks approaching the trip. I had caught a nasty cold which was not Covid (took 4 Covid tests, 2 of them PCR, all negative, throughout the cold), but I still worried. By the time of the cruise, I was over my cold, and had PCR tested again just to be sure, but still worried. I sailed through testing at port. I hope you do, too. Hang in there. It's possible testing might not even be a requirement by the time you sail.

We are on the transatlantic leave by may 8. I just booked excursions and palo. Nothing available for wine tastings but I’m thinking they aren’t offered anymore. If they are I’ll try to book onboard. We can’t wait.

Antigen tends to pick up active symptomatic covid vs PCR picking up asymptomatic or previous cases within the last 90 days. PCR is more sensitive.
Well that’s actually good news. Who knows if one had picked up Covid in the past if they only had mild symptoms.

Been there, done that pretty much for any vacation I have taken in the last year! Found it hard to get excited to plan for any of them. Found myself always making a Plan B because that has been what travel has been for us. We just got off the Wonder a couple days ago after spending 5 days in Disneyland, cross country flights and a train ride. I had exposure risk up the wahoo before this cruise. We even antigen tested in our hotel the morning of the cruise because I needed to have the time to plan what the heck we would do!

But, we were all fine, all 7 of us!

They are. At least on the 5/16 Dream. I was going to try and book for myself and my dad but they are sold out. I'm going to check on board though.

I know like we are staying at VWL two days prior and I am like should I wear a mask anyway while there? I am the Only one still wearing a mask at work. I am like I’ve worn it for two years what’s two more months!! Just so over it !

I'm with you... just booked for mid-May on the Fantasy and I have some amount of anxiety about the testing, despite that fact that we are all vaxxed and boosted.

I feel the same way. I leave at the end of April and am watching cases skyrocket in the UK so I am nervous within a couple weeks we could be seeing the same thing. My wife has a hair appointment the week before we leave and I have been trying to convince her to reschedule. I have booked excursions however

On a positive note, the UK (and Italy and Greece) 7-day averages have started to tick down after the bump.

I definitely felt this anxiety. I had never taken a covid test before until embarkation day, so I had no idea if I was positive, asymptomatic, or what. I mean, I felt fine so realistically I didn't think I would test positive, but there was always that doubt that maybe I had it and didn't know it. (didn't help that I couldn't find any place around me that had test kits for sale, and this was before the gov't was sending out 4 free tests per household)

...and then on the first night of the cruise, I get an email from my health clinic saying they are giving out 2 free tests per patient. Lol, well by that time I was already on the ship.

For what it is worth.... we sailed last week and were one of the last cruises with the old test. As we sat waiting for our results, I DIDN'T see one failed test listed on the screens. No guarantees, obviously but it is getting rarer and rarer to test pos.

It's currently 23 degrees outside at home. Two weeks from now I'll either be boarding the Magic in Miami, or I'll be denied boarding on the Magic and I'll find a nice beach to plop myself in the Atlantic Ocean for five days. I'm going on vacation either way, so being denied boarding due to COVID wouldn't be the end of the world.

This should have been our trip too. We were booked on the Apr 22 Transpo to Vancouver with a week at DL. Finally we were just too nervous. Thought for sure we'd test positive. Now Mar 28 I wish we had not cancelled!
