Are wet-wipes allowed in my carry-on, or do they have to go in the 3-1-1 baggie? I know they are not liquid per se, but if you squeeze them you can get some liquid out of them.

Sorry if this sounds silly, but I also wouldn't want to hold up the security line because I had them packed in my carry-on, and wasn't supposed to.

I carried them on in my purse and they never said anything and i went through security at 4 different airports.

If the substantial makeup not liquid, gel, paste, or cream, they do not have to go in the 3-1-1 bag. Another simpler (but not always perfect) determination is, can it keep its shape outside the container? The anwers for your wetwipes would be "yes".

That wasn't silly at all, I had always wondered as well and left them out of my carry-ons just in case last time. Next time, I'll bring them. Thanks for asking!

I carry travel size Wet Ones in my carry on all the time with no problems.

What about hand santizer? I always keep this in my purse. Does it need to be in a baggie?

If it is a liquid (and I assume it is) then, being a liquid, it has to follow the 3-1-1 rule and go in the baggie.

I carry both the individual Wet Ones and the travel pack of Clorox wipes in my backpack and TSA has never said anything about it. I do put the hand sanitizing gel in my 3-1-1 baggie.
