We leave Friday and I can't find the stroller rain cover. Forecast is thunderstorms and showers every day that we're at WDW.

Our house is on the market so we put away a lot of things, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to find it before Friday. Any tips if I can't find it? Does BabiesRUs or ToysRUs sell just the Maclaren rain cover?

I dont know if you would be able to get it in time...but I have seen them on ebay lately...We leave Saturday and now I am wishing I bought one. Good Luck ::MinnieMo

Another idea would be to use a cheap rain poncho, if you're not able to find the rain cover in time. We did this and it kept the stroller pretty dry. It isn't breathable, though. Our dd wasn't in it when it was raining, so we didn't have to worry about that part, but if your little one is in it, just make sure that air can get in.

Good luck.

Very few stores sell Mac rain covers, b/c they come with the strollers. Most nursery-goods stores such as BRUS or Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot do sell generic covers that fit just fine over Macs, and have the benefit of covering the basket as well.

In a pinch, a crystal clear shower curtain liner and 4 binder clips will do a pretty good job, but be sure to put it on very loosely if your child is inside, and be sure to let it air a bit before use, so that it is not outgassing new vinyl fumes. I don't recommend ponchos; you run the risk of pouring water down the "hood" opening when you remove it.

In the past I've seen many people drap and pin the rain ponchos over the top. I probalby will not have a rain cover we will just find cover and wait it out.

I had the same problem in May when we were there and I bought an adult poncho and placed it over the stroller. This keep both of my kids dry in a Disney double stroller.

I don't know how realistic it is, but what about a shower curtain liner? THey fold up pretty small and are big enough to cover it.

I just bought one yesterday and Buy buy baby. You might try online. I paid $3.99 at the store

Thanks for all the tips. I'm heading to the storage unit after work today, wish me luck! DS probably won't care about getting wet anyway -- it just irks me that I have the rain cover and packed it away!

Edited to add: I checked out some of the sites mentioned above and I like the generic rain covers better! They cover more and look like they are easier to use. It is too close to order online though, and Babies R Us says they don't have any. I'll call around and see if anyone in town carries it.

Edited: Found 1 at Babies R Us for 12.99. I had actually called Toys R Us earlier and they didn't have it (I thought I called BRU), so I called BRU. Made a quick trip during lunch and now I don't have to worry about digging through storage. Thanks all!

I found one at Target's website. It was approximately $11 with free shipping and it is the spring-loaded thing that folds pretty neatly. Got it in about a week, may not help those leaving earlier.

It looks like it will do the job. The top doesn't look waterproof (it is fabric) but it is. I poured water over it and it beads and runs off like it would on a raincoat.

I worried about putting my 2 year old in a poncho and the wind blowing off the poncho thrown over during a t-storm. So went with this route.

Babies R Us carries one for the GRACO stroller because I registered for one and got it. Now I have to get a mesh one for the bugs. If they don't have them in the stores, you can probably order it from Amazon. I just don't know if it will fit over the Maclaren- it should! :goodvibes :goodvibes

we're heading down on fri (9/2) and saw all of the rain too. just bought a plastic rain cover for a single stroller at babies r us for 12.99. i checked out the strollers they have for rental and i think it should work okay. good luck. where are you staying? we'll be at beach club

Oooh, we're leaving tomorrow, and I had not thought of this one. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to our Babies-R-Us today!
