Can't figure out how to make a playlist

on itunes for my iPod nano.....anyone want to explain how I go about doing this lol?

Two ways. Pull down first bar and click new playlist. Then name playlist. After that highlight songs and send to that playlist.

Or click on smart playlist, it selects songs by criteria. I've made tons of those, I love having random songs I wouldn't have thought to put on come up.
