Can't Decide on Tickets!

Traveling to WDW next June with DH, DD12, and DS10. It's been a few years since we've been to WDW. Well actually, DH and I went just last October. But the kids haven't seen new Fantasyland and DS is now big enough to ride RnRC, which will be a first for him. We arrive at 3:30 on a Wednesday and have a super early flight out the following Thursday, giving us 7 full days for the parks. I'm trying to decide if we want a ticket for 7 days, or 8 days, or 6 and water parks...? What would you do?

You can always buy a 6 day and add the additional days if you need them. Also, the cost difference between a 6 day, 7 day & 8 day is not much
Yup. It costs, per ticket, $10 to add one day, $20 to add two days.

However, if a guest waits to add a day or more to a ticket, he can't book advance FP+ for any "extra" day until that day is purchased.

But, I can be a good plan to wait until you are at WDW before deciding to add the Water Park option.
You will then know your wants and... the weather conditions.

Also, it's cheaper to buy a one-day Water Park ticket than to buy the entire WPF&M ticket upgrade.

Good to know. I can't see us doing more than one WP day and I thought I had read somewhere that just getting the WPF&M was cheaper.

Always listen to Robo. We had purchased park tickets separately (not part of a package), and then realized that we couldn't add a park day until we got to WDW, thus we couldn't reserve FP+ for one of our park days.

Depends.
If you already have HOPPER tickets, adding the WPF&M option is only about $26 per ticket, which is about half the cost of a one-day WP ticket.

LOTS of options. LOTS of rules.

Clearly, I'm overthinking this. I think we'll go with the 8 day ticket and add WP when we're there if we decide we want to do that. That way, we can have FP+ every day we're there, even if it's to go to the park in the PM for our FPs.
